dead space 2 hardacore

so..i finished the game once...unlocked hardcore and everything...but then i had to uninstall the game...along with save files...and after a couple a days i decided to install it again...when i did...my saves and everything...were deleted(as expected)...but hardcore was unlocked on its own....How is that possible?????

usally theirs a folder some where in your documents that has your saves in it.

The info on what's unlocked isn't stored in the save files.
