Why is so much stuff for free?
I started this game and reached my first store location and in the store inventory there are like so many guns and suits displayed and ALL OF THEM COST nothing! Is this a glitch?

No, EA gave all the DLC content to pc for free via patch.

oh wow, ok. It kinda sucks though how you get everything thrown in your face from the 1st chapter already.

At least they could have added cost to the items so you dont get the best kit in the first 20 minutes already.

Just don't use them and you're good to go !

EA and Valve had a disagreement on how the dlc should be sold through Steam so they just automatically added it all to the game.

But they all cost zero credits because it wouldn't have made sense to have people pay for the DLC and then again in-game for the content. Wouldn't be a big deal to me, but I guess they wanted it to be instant access.

i cant imagine this ever was paid dlc...I mean its just the same guns with +5% or +10% boost to two of their attributes. no wonder they prolly didnt get much money from previously when they sold it on console marketplaces

At least this is the first EA game that let people own DLCs for free

There's a thread about it somewhere on these forums. Of course, you can just choose not to use it, but I find personally that it cheapens the experience of unlocking special suits, collecting gun schematics, etc.

I'm not sure that fix works anymore, sadly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, I like your name. :P
Yeah the game just sucks ♥♥♥♥ now, now that everything is unlocked.

Just don't buy the free things and then the game is exactly the same.

You may also choose to use all the free store items you can get your hands on, and just choose a more higher difficulty-level to play the game.

"Weapons/Armor Unlocked At Start

The Steam version of Dead Space 2 includes a piece of DLC that unlocks better armor and all the weapons at the start, thereby negating the need to find schematics and decreasing the difficulty. It's recommended for full effect that on the first run through you play without this DLC. To remove this DLC, either play the game on Origin, or download the original .exe here.

Simply make a backup copy of the currently installed .exe, download the old .exe, and copy it to the Dead Space 2 folder. You'll then be able to play the game without the extra unlocks. However, it recommended that you use the newer .exe for subsequent play-thoughs, as it properly unlocks some bonus items that you normally get for completing the game."

'The Steam version requires signing into your EA account in-game. This unlocks a copy of the game on Origin for that EA account.'
