Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2

Which Dead Space was the scariest/ least scary for you?
Scariest is simple: Dead Space 1, mainly due to the clunky controls and actual frightning firefights + the monsters didn't rush 90% of the times so I had plenty of time to look and scream instead of "OPEN FIRE . . . look . . . SCREAM".

Least scary is simple aswell: Dead Space 3, all I had to do was make a machine gun and the game might just aswell have said "Congratulations you just beat our game". No ammo scarcity no medpack scarcity and the monsters become axe weilding humans (humanish?). Still a good game to co-op like Resident Evil 5.

Out of the 3 I enjoy number 2 the most, don't know why though xD . . . One downside I have with 2 is that the monsters act like the braindead "RUSH IN YOUR BULLETPROOF" enemies of Dead Space 3 so scary factor wasn't as high for me.

Dead Space 3 was the least scaryest, cause I installed it, saw teriibad graphics and then uninstalled it.

The first one was novel, but excepting a couple of jump scares, I was not 'drawn into it' enough to have an emotional response. Played1 and 2 in the dark as well. But now that I think about it, two definately made me laugh alot cause it seemed really absurd.

Dead Space 1 felt a lot more tense because you didn't have a confident protagonist who understands what is happening and has a clear end-goal.

Silent Hill gets it right using a different main character everytime. Your character's own confusion and desperation really helps build up your own anxiety, which imo is the most important emotion a horror game should press on you. Just minor things like Isaac's exhausted and desperate voice when he melees in DS1 helped. But then in DS2 you've got him shouting "HAH, HIYA, MUTHER-F$%^ER!, RA!" Which just makes him sound like another cheesy action-hero. Can you imagine a horror game with Sylvester Stallone as the main character? It just wouldn't work.

Personally I think DS2 would have been a lot more interesting if you were a random Sprawl Citizen or Security Guard.

Dead Space doesn't scare me. At all. I find it kind of flat. Dead Space 2 just bores me. I played it for less than two hours.

i havent beaten any of them.. i 've had deadspace 1 on xbox, ps3 and now PC, same with deadspace 2, and i got 3 on my xbox, like why i havent beaten is probably cause the first one scared me, made me unease playing it, like i would get sick of being tensed up that i would stop playing, i better beat these games already XD

The second one hands down is scariest. By that time Visceral had perfected the universe and it shows. That one is their masterpiece. I have played all several times and I always go back to the second. The third one on the other hand was least. The enviroments were made for two people to walk around in. No tight places, no narrow corridors. Co-op killed the third one. They need to make the next one single player for the campaign and co-op have its own campaign. But the atmosphere on Titan Station was by far the creepiest and well done.
