Dead Space 2 looks a lot like Dead Space 1 but with much better graphics and... omg... Isaac speaks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3dGyJeDPlQ
But Dead Space 3 is the best - after you have played 1 and 2. Because in 3, although the necros are mostly the same, the environments are varied and different from 1/2. The characters are more human and not so military, and Isaac is not bossed about. Instead he is a mediator. Also you get to make your own weapons.
So, if you can afford it, or get a chance to buy them in a sale, buy both. You won't regret it and you'll get a lot of fun out of all of them.
Completely agree. DS2 is the gem of the trilogy.
