Dead Space 1 and 3 are the only ones that needed an remake imo, 1 because of the dated graphics, story inconsistensies and awkward wonky game engine, 3 because the pacing of the game was awful, the dumb resource system, cheap assets and levels reused over and over again to pad the game, forced co-op, and "Call-Of-Dutyization" of the franchise.
Other than DLC weapons and suits being given for free for no reason on the pc version, DS2 was perfect.
2 is good
3 is problematic, so I hope you got awakened DLC.
DS2 Remake would be cool tho, with all DLC included.
DS3 Remake needs better gameplay
This means yes DS2 is 100% worth playing.
