Dead Space 2
Zealot Difficulty: Final Fight Worst Case Scenario!!
I had always done well with Survivalist and thought I'd kick it up a notch since I saw that the game recently had it's 10 year anniversary! But I FRACKING swear...Zealot mode is so horrible and crazy that I dare not try the higher difficulty because I may actually crap myself!!!! I have never had to rely on Stasis and Kinesis tactics SO much in my life!! That first Chapter where you learn to use Kinesis to throw spikes and necromorph claws at stuff is something you should DEFINITELY PRACTICE doing in the fast paced and deadly situation that is Zealot! It is truly not a joke!! No matter what armor you have, and HP, the Advanced armor that gives you 20% more armor..its like tissue paper to the necromorphs. I would suggest getting one of the suits that incrases weapon damage as well as inventory!!

Anyway, you are probably trying to guess what that point of the title is!! BEWARE: SPOILERS BELOW!!

Well, I was progressing through the game quite nicely on Zealot difficulty, with a few scrapes where I had to use Kinesis and Stasis to wrigle my way through tough fights with a LOT of necros, until I got near the end where the regenrating necromorph that chases after you as you make your way through the Government sectot to the marker! I was severaly low on ammo, had no health packs left, half health and enemies still to come!!. I get to the marker, kill Tideman, went into the Nicole fight, and when I take aim at Nicole...all I hear was the sad click of "no ammo"!! >___>

So..I am running the hell around the small floating rock map, running away from the figure of Issacks dead girlfriend, literally NOTHING in my inventory, wondering how I am gonna finish this!! My stasis recharged a little and I froze her and punched her. Now...the punch at this point does very little damage...so needless to say...I was at this a LONG time! About 10-15 minutes LATER...i see the marker explode and the heart sack is exposed...took aim...and forgot I still didnt have ammo!! FML!!

The marker regens and Nicole appears! But she isn't alone! All these little kid-necros spawn and I remembered!! "YES!! These little guys drop stuff!! Just gotta not die and punch these little bastards then shoot her!!" Which is a LOT easier said than done!! I punch one and grab the ammo only to get hit. Now I am at literally 0 HP and could die if Nicole or one of the little runt necros sneezed on me

So after another 45 seconds or a minute of running around trying to kite the runts and Nicole away from thye ammo, I died. I was so angry because now I had to AGAIN spend 15 minutes punching Nicole!!

After the 4t5h attempt..which was an hour and a half later...I gave up and went to sleep!!

I can only hope that when I start the game again I am able ti find some ammo!!

Great story.

Notch up the dificulty ey?
You're adorable, pal.

First. Your biggest mistake was not starting
off with Zealot in the first place. That is how the
game is meant to be played.

Second, Kinessis is the great way of conserving
ammo, as it allows you to lob the sharp necromorph
pieces at the enemy. (You can also grab puker spit)

Third, stasis is the Saviour we all wanted and neglecting
its powers, especially against the faster enemies
means that your flesh will be raped multiple times.

Fourth That is why, you should also
keep multiple saves.

I've beaten this game at least 7 times
so you should probably heed my words.

There is absolutely no need for your condesending attitude about me being "adorable". I had simply never played the Zealot mode on Dead Space 2 because you get what you get as far as ammo and moey and thats it. Playing the lower difficulties a few times helps you familiarize yourself with where all the secret and hidden items are like the Semiconductors.

1.) I never start with the ridiculous difficulty levels. Thats completely absurd. That is your opinion, your choice to do. I started with Survivalist in Dead Space 2 because I had played Dead Space more than enough times to learn how to manage my ammo consumption and my credit use. Dead Space 3 was a different animal all together with the crafting and no credits.

2 and 3.) Did you not read the part where I said I had to use a lot of stasis and Kinesis to get through fights? There was one fight where I had 7 shots left, 10 necromorphs chasing me and I was killing them 1 at a time using Stasis and their own limbs. I died close to 50 times on that one fight because sometimes you get health and stasis packs to drop and sometimes you don't.

4.) Multiple saves is a crappy way of resetting your progress when stuff goes bad. Have one save, make good choices. Skipping back half way through the game is kind of a cheat because you will know where all the ammo drops are for that playthrough. Kind of negates your first opinion on starting with Zealot. One extra save is fine if the game has a glitch or something that prevents you from progressing (which rarely happens). My issue was just a result of a lot of missed/wasted shots during the regenerating necro phase before you get into the Nicole fight.

I have beaten the game dozens of times as well. I have also beaten Dead Space 3 at least 20 times on my Origin account on higher difficulty modes too because that game is a little less linier and you can farm a lot of materials with the scavenger bots both in space and on the ships to craft custom weapons and have a ton of health packs. I always have the Plasma Cutter and a telemetry spike and grenade/rocket launcher combo.

The point I am making is that the Nicole fight needs to have some ammo drops or spawns at the ends of the small map in casew that happens. I spent 15 minutes per fight just getting past the first phase because I had no ammo after the regenerating necro gauntlet!!

OH COME THE ♥♥♥♥ ON

I wrote an entire essey of an answer!!! And the damn thing is lost now!

long story short, i will repeat that sometimes
the hard is the way to be played
Forcing you into the scenario closest
to the desired product, making you
quickly adapt, improvise, overcome
or be killed.

And again, ammo drops are completely random
in the loot they contain. A life saving health pack now,
a needless ammo, later
Неужели тебе так сложно? Я прошёл нормально игру на Zealot и при этом не получил своей награды, так как ЕА в то время не заботились о ПК игроках.

Pretty incredible if true tho

Also you can punch her? I got killed multiple times by just letting her get too close to me while trying to dodge the shrieking children. I had to reload a bunch of times just on survivalist because, as I hadn't realized until it was too late, apparently the entire last chapter is basically just designed to dump all your ammo, stasis, and health packs so by the time I got there I had no health packs and little ammo left. The little buggers were too fast and too many for me to even bother with trying to kill them all and grabbing the dropped ammo so I ended up just focusing entirely on shooting nicole and then the forming brethren moon above the marker. Although I also stupidly left a bunch of medpacs in my safe and iirc had money leftover maybe, spending the game being all scrooge mcduck not realising this was the very end.

You say after having already beaten it? Like I said, the whole point of the last chapter particularly the last like 5-10 minutes you should come to realize is exclusively there to drain all your ammo and health. I don't normally play FPS a lot but was doing fine on survivalist (since I already beat DS1 on normal) for the most part until running into the end where I blew through absolutely my entire inventory's worth of health and ammo. I also don't normally use stasis a lot but man did I need it at the end (I never waste nodes on that either). I had like 79,000 credits saved up by the time I got my advanced suit and had multiple health in storage, and often had times throughout the game where I had so much extra crap in my inventory including unused health I had to drop useless ammo. I think this gave me unrealistic expectations about budgeting and being prepared enough for the end.
