No Hand Cannon after beat Hardcore mode

After many attempts, I managed to finish Dead Space 2 in Hardcore mode. However, after starting a new game and arriving at the store, I notice that the Hand Cannon is not there. To my surprise I will check the Dead Space wiki, and there it says the following:
"When completing Hardcore mode in the PC Steam version, you will not gain the Soldier suit nor the Hand Cannon. To fix this, you have to complete Hardcore mode again but during only ONE session without quitting once. The other soulution is to download a finished hardcore mode save where it has the suit and the Hand Cannon."

For real? The hell. I was going to do Hardcore run after Normal and Zealot one to get those items, but if that is the case, then I won't even bother, I already did it back on Xbox 360 back in the days. Weak.

Yeah man, I was pissed, after so much suffering to be able to finish. Hardcore mode is actually quite hard, and it wasn't until after that that I discovered this glitch.
But I found this guide to unlocking the Hand Cannon and it worked for me.
Made my day :D

the steam version of this game is all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lol my game's online doesn't even work and it stutters a lot when i use rivatuner.

Just happened to me. Saw posts elsewhere that the Origin version has the issue too, so it's just a PC bug they've ignored for a decade.
