Hi, I`m in the first chapter right now.

Arrived at the first shop and almost everything is for free. How comes?

A bug. You can look up guides to know how to fix it.

If you're talking about the guns and armor you can get for free, it's because the game comes with all the dlc micro transactions the game had which is just special versions of the weapons and armor. Since it was dlc the game just gives it to you for free since you would have bought it with real money. I believe there is a guide on how to remove the items by going to the game folder, but I never looked into myself, I just ignore those items whenever I start a new game.

Just save yourself the time and ignore it or just buy it then shove it in your bank.

DLC content. Buy all the free weapons and shove it in your vault and never use it. Hold back on the armor until you find equivalent gear in the game world, if you want to be purist about it.

Man, this is such a typical EA thing.

What's even more typical EA is that the only noteworthy piece of DLC (the Severed campaign) wasn't released on PC. :D

I mean, how many work hours would it take to make a "disable all DLC content" option?
Apparently one too many for EA.
It's easier to put old .exe on the forums and consider it done.

If I recall, EA did this in response to modders actually datamining the 360 version and porting all of them to PC illegally, as they were originally supposed to be console exclusive. It was basically EA saying ♥♥♥♥ you to everyone on PC because of a couple bad actors.

and I don't blame the modders one bit when EA does a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing like that!!! Hell, if I could, i'd shake their hand personally.

I really wish they would fix this, as it kills the feeling opening the store only to see EvERYTHING

EA basically just gave away all DLC stuff to the first store killing the ingame economy and balance including inventory manegment.
Also made shop cluttered.........

You can use them as an easy mode.

I like to play without them in that case you need to find blueprints and use early suits which have less armor and inventory space and cost money just like in DS 1.

Free dlc weapons are also better than ingame cost ones and many of those your find later.

EA should have made a toggle on off for free dlc........

You can get a copy of the 1.0 exe on Speedrun.com which doesn't have the DLC made carelessly available.
https://www.speedrun.com/dsp2/resources

The only problem is the 1.0 version has bugged unlock conditions for certain NG+ items, and hardcore mode doesn't work as intended. (Though I actually prefer it. Basically a no checkpoints mode.) This also works retroactively on existing 2.0 saves. (Though items in your Safe remain.)

Someone with time and a hexeditor could probably figure out how to disable the DLC on the 2.0 exe.

The highest armor and inventory space are shared between suits as per the note on the bottom of the store page. Unlike DS1, you can switch to the different suits anytime.
There are more suit blueprints on new game plus.
As for the dlc weapons, their stats are different than the ones found in the game.
The DS1 plasma cutter shows up in the DS2 store, only if you have a save from the original game.
