Product activation key for EA Play?

After installing this game with EA play subscription, launching the game asks for a serial key which was not provided. Isnt it in the game already?

So here i think the issue is: EA/Origin is forcing steam users to download another game client, that game client have the actual key to play this game and any other EA/Origin games on the steam store. The EA chat support wont allow me to have the key ever if it is already on my steam library so what they will do is remove the games on your library if you refuse to download the stupid client.

I believe its not working because of the implementation of EA Play. For some reason the old (in my case 7 year old) serial key that Steam auto applies no longer works. But my issue was resolved in like 20 minutes.

Submit a ticket about the "Activation Wizard Invalid Code"

Support will give you a new version of the game.
YOU MUST UNINSTALL THE OLD ONE from Steam and Origin. Then reinstall, and launch through Origin.

This was resolved and works fine for me now. The game will no longer launch through steam (until this issue is fixed on their/Steams end) so you just have to launch directly through Origin now. Which isnt really a problem since it was already using it anyway. I just hid the game in my steam library.

I received this with my customer support
"There is some issue going on the Steam server where many players are not able to access Dead Space 2 on Steam Platform. Good thing is that this has been brought into the notice of the Game Team and Teams have confirmed there is some issue from the server-side. They are diligently working with the Development Team to fix this issue."

Please complain on EA support. Say you don't want an origin copy. They will try and give you one. Evil people.

yeah I just bought the game, didn't get a product key, and don't know where to find it. I get the invalid serial number error.

I bought the game yesterday and had the same problem. I just had the purchase refunded and I am going to wait till they solve it.

After spending 2 hours with the their support chat (EA support, not Steam), they credited the game to my Origin library. I had to show screenshots of proof of purchase of the game, emails...etc It was a pain in the tail. They also told me that I can only play it through Origin, and that the Steam version will not work any more. Just so you guys know if you wanna go that way.

I think it would have been faster to just follow that CD key activation link though, hack it and be done with it. Lesson learned.
