i've seen heaps of clips when Isaac shoots himself in the chin with a crossbow like weapon,

Towards the end of the game? That is most likely a hallucination as you have to fight Nicole after you ward it off. Though Nicole can also make Isaac kill himself if she gets too close.

yeah i think so when she/it gets close to you, flashing images pop up and then isaac shoots himself
