Help: Failed to Connect to EA servers
Hi, I recently bought the game and in the past two games I have been trying to log into the game, but every time I have been given the message Failed to connect to EA servers. Any tips on what I can do?

[SOLVED]
So i bought the game and received the same message saying "unable to connect to ea servers", so i contacted ea support and told them about it and from what they said, i understood that the key steam gave me was invalid on origin and they added dead space 2 to my origin account with a new key, and now the steam version can be linked to origin and everything works perfectly fine.

Happy to know EA was able to help you. For me, tho, they have been completely useless. I opened 2 support tickets, 2 live chats, and no one solved my issue. I asked 2 times for EA to manually add Dead Space 2 to my Origin library and they refused. This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks, If I buy the game I should be able to fully enjoy it, not only the single player. By the way, I tried to redeem the game on my Origin account, but it seems the CD KEY on Steam doesn't work on Origin.

Well for me, they ask me for the proof of purchase before adding the game to my Origin.
And as i said before, Origin made some changes so steam keys no longer work on Origin.
If you purchased the games just try to persuade EA support into giving you a working version because you have the right to.

Even after showing proof of purchase and everything else that they requested, EA support still said they couldn't help me. They don't give out keys for the game on origin for any reason, and they insist that the issue with the CD key needs to be resolved by Steam, not them. If you're looking to play MP on this, don't get it on steam, or better yet do not bother getting it at all since EA doesn't deserve your money.

it just depends on the support guy. The first support that i talked to said the same thing, tho the key steam gave you was given to steam by EA but still they said talk to steam, but the second one solved it for me.
And Bro, you bought an EA game, you own a copy now, so you legitimately have the ability to play multiplayer.

Yeah, EA support sucks balls. I talked with two different customer support dudes through chat, both of them were completely useless. All they did was send me links with basic troubleshooting steps, that had nothing to do with my problem. When I asked EA to add DS2 to my Origin library or provide me with a key, customer support basically told me to solve the issue with Steam.

Nope, EA support confirmed that the reason I am unable to connect to the EA servers is because the game isn't registered on origin, yet they still told me it was Steam's problem and not theirs. I had to talk to 5 different guys just for them to all tell me the same thing and that they can't help me.

Still haven't been helped, but what I have learned is that the problems with this game started happening as soon as it became a part of EA Play. Before, people would get the game linked on origin by EA with no real issue, but now it looks like some suit told the bottoms to hardball online issues for as long as possible to get people to either pay for the game again on Origin or to get EA Play. At this point, there should be a class action lawsuit for false advertising since, by EA's own words, "the game must be registered on Origin to access online features". Why sell this as a multiplayer-capable game on Steam if you can't access online features if purchased through Steam.

I would say maybe for false advertising, but sadly it doesn't say anywhere on the Steam page about multiplayer. And since we bought the games digitally we technically don't own them, we rented a right to own it from them. So if there was a lawsuit their suits would get it thrown out immediately. Only hope seems to be to continue emailing and chatting and getting the support agent who understands the issue and sends you to the promised land
