Unable to save progress

I downloaded dead space 2 but I can't get to save the game, I already reinstalled it but it didn't work. Also, steam gives me this product key and tells me to input it but the game doesn't ask for it. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Hi are you still trying to sort the game?
If so I may have a solution, here's what to do (Works with Windows Defender, I'm unsure about other ones):
1. Open Windows Defender,
2. Virus and threat protection,
3. Virus and threat detection settings,
4. Allow an app through controlled folder acsess,
5. Add an allowed app.

This is to be done on your Dead Space 2 .exe but if you're unsure where that is, its:
1. Go to Steam Libary,
2. Right click game,
3. Properties,
4. Local files,
5. Browse Local files.

You can copy paste the adress into the allowed app piece or just follow the path manually. Really hope this helps, I just got the game and had this issue and have literally just fixed it.

This does not work with Bitdefender as far as I can see, help would be appreciated for those who can't get this to work.

i had the same problem but i figured it out its simply your antivirus stopping you from saving if you go into your anti virus and turn off the safe file or something along those lines to save your files in case of a virus corrompting them. the game will work fine again.
