@Punished_Penguini
btw, what chapter have you made it to, dude?
Legit I made it to the part where you get grabbed by a large necro and then have to shoot a bunch of baby ones

Ya, I've found the need to run in that stage. The babies ducked under my line gun fire. It was an ugly scene. Nothing I used shot fast enough until they backed me into the right rear doorway and they all got bottle-necked!

I think storyline get's more in depth and interesting as you move on. Especially the sheer size of the Sprawl. Exploring always pays off too. I think it's alot about endurance and if Isaac was still the silent protagonist as the in the 1st DS it would be even more so.

Here are some tips for killing different necromorph types:

Slashers (most common) - Try to get close to them, they stop sprinting toward you if you're close. Since they are moving slowly at close range, it should be easy to take them out in 2 shots with the plasma cutter. If you're using a force gun, close range is an instant kill for normal enemies, so is the alternate fire. Avoid weapons like the flamethrower, and save the contant beam for boss battles against brutes or the final boss.

Leapers (crawlers) - Always stasis these guys, then use the plasma cutter's horizontal beam to cut both the arm and the head off at the same time. If they aren't dead after that, simply punch one to two shots into the other arm.

Spitters / Pukers - When fighting pukers, keep your distance and shoot off one of their legs, then their arms. Pukers will make a loud noise when getting ready to spit a projectile acid at you. When you hear it, aim at the puker and grab the acid with kinesis and throw it back. Thrown spit will be an instant kill against normal pukers, not sure about ancient/black versions though.

Stalkers (dinosaur alien zombies) - Just sit in a corner and shoot their legs with a plasma cutter, following up with a shot to their arm. Use kinesis to shoot their hands back at other stalkers, then shoot off an arm once they're on the ground.

Exploders - Don't try to shoot their explosive pouch, shoot the arm connecting to it. Once you have the pouch cut off, use kinesis to throw it back at a tight group of necromorphs. If they aren't near a large group (they usually are), then just shoot the explosive.

Cysts (wall, floor, and ceiling zits) - Just run past them, don't even bother.

Brutes - Immediately stasis them, then fire at one of their arms (Don't shoot their back legs.) This boss is incredibly easy when using the Contact Beam. Don't shoot their other arm, however, as the Brute will fire an explosive projectile at you that you can kinesis and shoot back at them, saving ammo.

Here's my opinion on which weapons you should use: Plasma Cutter, Contact Beam (Don't upgrade the contact beam, make sure it's fully reloaded at all times, sell any extra ammo in your inventory to the store for quick cash. Only use this on bosses), Pulse Rifle (When using the Pulse Rifle, don't just spam bullets at enemies, fire one bullet at a time to stun enemies, then aim for a leg. To fire one bullet at a time, left click then unscope immediately after), Force Gun (For situations where you are completely surrounded, and need to kill everything off very fast. Stasis enemies like exploders, leapers, and explosive babies, then use your primary fire to knock all enemies on their feet. Use your alternate fire on enemies who are knocked down, or simply switch to another weapon to cut off an arm and use kinesis.)

Remember to ALWAYS use kinesis in order to save ammo. Shoot an arm if the necromorph isn't running at you, then press "F" or whatever key is bound to kinesis immediately after to pick up the blade, then fire it back at them. It should be an instant kill against all but ancient/black necromorphs.

Hope this helps.

Dont listen to any of these people who think saying "Shoot limbs" means they know anything SHoot limbs was the original sellig point for DS1. The green necromorphs cant be dismembered and the last 5 chapter its all you will fight. Try playing through this on hard difficulty you will rage uninstall like me.

I've finished Dead Space 1 through 3 at least twice each, it is my favorite game series. Anyways, in Dead Space 2 certaily take advantage of the nodes to upgrade your weapons, insted of splitting all of your nodes and have a bunch of weapons with medium power and capability, focus on making one very OP, the plasma cutter I would do first because its 3rd shooting mode is so OP, and regular shoot mode kills with one hit. The next will be the pulse rifle or maybe even the line gun. Also upgrade your suit, shoot limbs of necros and if u have the chance save ammo and use one of the necros limbs to kill another.

Uh... what? The black ones (what I'm assuming you're talking about) are easily dismemberable. The only enemy in the game that's hard to dismember is the brute (big gorilla thing) from the front. The enhanced black necromorphs have several times the damage, speed and durability, but they are not invincible. (they show up around the point where if you upgraded your plasma cutter like you should have, you could one shot basic enemies)

As far as I know, shoot limbs doesn't apply to dead space 3
