I doubt DS4 will ever get released considering EAs horrible decisions on DS3. DS3 was definatly the franchise killer of the decade since it was drastically different and terribly written.

Heck, they could even make a prequel to Downfall or an Origins. Just the thought brings shivers!
Resident Evil 7
You must not have actually played DS3 as it wasn't drastically different nor terribly written, at all. Literally the only problems with 3 were the obscene number of enemies, and the puzzles clearly designed for co op.
People need to quit crying about what they think Dead Space 3 did or didn't do, because they're almost always wrong. Dead Space 3 didn't ruin the Dead Space franchise. It was 5x more action than 2 was, but suits are what killed Dead Space - not the game. DS3 was great up until you crash on Tau Volantis and even after that it was pretty good.
Dumbass suits, marketing executives, number pushers, are what killed the franchise. They misjudged the popularity of the survival horror niche - which is at max 6 million people, and expected to sell way more copies than they ever were going to. They thought because DS was critically acclaimed, it meant people were going to buy it, and they thought they could appeal to a wider audience Capcom style.
Said executives decided the game needed to sell 5 million to succeed, and it only sold 605,000 in the first 24 days. To date it's only sold 2 million ish, judging by crappy vgchartz which is most definitely wrong.
Even Dead Space 2, every fanboys favorite who didn't even play DS1, only sold 3 million copies. So who knows what the actual ♥♥♥♥ they were smoking.
Also, that appears to be how the industry works. Last time I checked RE2 Remake was literally only happening because people have asked for it for 15 years. FF7 remake is only happening because people have been asking for it. If enough people are asking for Dead Space 4, it's going to happen. It's simple economics.
. AI was awful in several places especially the human AI.
. Unitologists magical built multiple Markers with no explanation. Not to mention that as soon as they reveal the marker it instantly spawns Necromorphs.
. The game was almost entirely action based with little to no atmosphere.
. Some areas of the game are LOCKED unless you're playing Co-Op.
. Crafting was ruined and turned into a microtransaction factory.
The marker on the moon didn't "instantly spawn necromorphs." It was turning people into necromorphs as the game started.
The game had a TON of atmosphere. The entire first half of the game takes place on spaceships, and claustrophobic environments on the moon. There's an entire fleet of abandoned, necromorph full ships in space above Tau Volantis and even after that, the entire Alien city bled atmosphere.
Microtransactions were completely irrelevant. It was beyond easy to get more than enough ammo and ingredients to craft broken guns and trololo your way through the game without ever purchasing anything. Only people who have never played the game bring that up.
We get it. You don't like it. But come up with some actual reasons why, after you actually PLAY the game first.
