★★★★★ Ride 2 MOTOGP/SBK TOURNAMENT ★★★★★ [CLOSED]
TOURNAMENT
Starting date will be on March, 18 (Sunday), with a yet-to-define time - will try to adjust this to make sure everyone can play, regardless of timezones. Sunday is also no-school day, so it should help as well.
It will span across multiple weeks, 2 races per week, generally 15 laps each race, with R1 class bikes. Some races will have less laps to make the length uniform.
How to join? Just comment here telling me your timezone (please, make it related to GMT).
Also, join group chat around 30 mins before the race for the briefing :) http://steamcommunity.com/groups/RIDE_tournaments
We also have a Discord server to chat if you want. - https://discord.gg/c4kq4qf

HOW DOES THIS WORK?
All credits go to ReZ for this beautiful mod, that you can find here - http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/ride2motogp.20017/ simply follow the instructions and once you're done, you can download the tracks from here: https://pastebin.com/5HVz7kLw (click on the very big "download - click here" text). Cut the files and paste them into your Steam/Steamapps/common/Ride 2/Tracks folder.
If it's asking you to install the Mega app to download the files, you can just install the Google Chrome Mega extension instead and it should be working fine. (No it's not crap, virus or adware, lol)
Note: if you crash on Phillip Island, please update the mod because the 1st version had an issue with it.

CALENDAR
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U78pn73bCR8OfiMxLMq8lEXF1vaLlyVDKjpzegak-A4/edit?usp=sharing
The calendar is not completely final but it's the same as the real-life current SBK season (again awesome ReZ's idea), since Ride 2 bikes look more like SBK than MotoGP, they still share a number of tracks.
Note: if you want to share this link, Steam will censor it :steamfacepalm:. For this reason I created an alternative link from where people will be able to reach the original page: https://pastebin.com/WyvAXUXa this link can be shared in chat instead.
Looking forward to see you in game!

COUNTDOWN TO NEXT RACE
- Group A race countdown: https://countingdownto.com/countdown/ride-2-motogp-sbk-tournament-group-a-next-race-countdown-clock
- Group B race countdown: https://countingdownto.com/countdown/ride-2-motogp-sbk-tournament-group-b-next-race-countdown-clock

BORING RULES
1) Collisions: OFF (if you want to know why - just head over to the 1st Ride tournament video and check the lag) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2b5tvi4PyA
2) Cutting will be automatically punished by the game itself. Players can cut as much as they want then :P (In fact, if that can make the difference between arriving and not arriving because of the end-race timer, I strongly encourage you to cut a chicane entirely if you need).
2a) Excessive cutting (use common sense) will result in the player being disqualified and potentially banned.
3) There may or may not be a separate room and mentions for onboard riders, it depends on participation.
4) Pro physics will be forced.
5) Gearbox can be automatic or manual.
6) Off-track aid: off.
7) Other riding assists: whatever suits you best.
8) AI riders: obviously 0.
9) Group B riders with faster race times than group A ones will be swapped and viceversa, to ensure everyone the best experience (as in, trying my best to make it so that everyone gets to the finish line).
10) The leaderboards will be made up by comparing group A and group B final racing times. Example - group B winner race time 25:00:00, group A last rider in 10th place - 24:50:00, then group B winner would be 11th overall. It is therefore very important not to waste time at the last lap doing wheelies and such ;)
11) If there are Group A riders not being able to make it to the finish line, please take a screenshot of where you are, when the timer is about to expire, then also of your final results (even if it's dnf). We will estimate your lap to be 0.5s slower than your best lap and calculate your final racing time.
12) Please make sure your firewall&antivirus are off, and that your router "NAT" setting is set to "Open". If you have no idea what this means, Google it, it's no rocket science I promise :) (This is to make sure everyone can connect just fine)
13) DO NOT ALT TAB WHILE IN LOBBY, OR WHILE LOADING, OR BEFORE STARTING. This will cause the whole room to stall waiting for you to get your game in focus, so for the love of God, don't do it!!!
14) If anybody crashes during the loading, while in lobby, or at the bike setup screen, the room will be made again. Otherwise it will be up to the host, but in no case it will be re-made after one full lap. (Leaving the game manually will just get you disqualified from the race)
15) Wall riding will result in immediate disqualification from the current race. This applies to Stelvio and Kanto Temples tracks. No further details will be disclosed, please don't ask, the ones that know what this is about will know not to do it, and the ones who don't know what it is, won't do it either.
16) Doing continuous stunts, burnouts and all that sort of stuff for the whole race is severely forbidden. This is not a stunt competition, and you will distract others with such behaviour. Players doing this will be disqualified from the current race and a repeated offence will get them disqualified from the whole tournament. (Another reason is that smoke particles get rendered on the whole track, so if you do burnouts and stuff you kill everyone's FPS).

Really didn't have any fun this week... Misano was just annoying with a silly crash and Estoril I was off the pace I wanted to have for some reason, but still won since Suomy crashed a billion times...
However, congratulations to chin0 from group B almost beating dog from group A in Estoril, keep it up!
Congratulations to ReZ as well for his best result in the league so far, riding on-board, in Misano. Plus, just 2s off the 40s limit.
See you guys next week for Magny Cours (SIGH) and Thermas de Rio Hondo (chin0 that's your track!).

So those 2 wins made me mathematically the overall winner :steamhappy: I did have loads of fun this week, too, unlike the previous one.
I'd like to spend a second to dedicate the championship to that "#Tristin" in my username, a dear friend with a really bad illness. You will win your battle like I won this, I trust you.

Special congratulations to dog for his first podium in the league, great stuff there in Magny Cours!
There's a really crazy battle now going on for the 4th place, as dog, JtR and lattdaus are all in 1 point, so whoever of you comes 1st between you, will get the 4th place overall! I'm excited to see how it's going to go in Losail!

I've been thinking about a way to help a bit with the disconnections... We could have people to re-do the races, with 10s of penalty on their end result (so at least they get "some" points out of it). I need feedback about this, there would be 2 races affected, RIDmARK in Phillip Island and JtR in Laguna Seca.

See you all in Losail for the final race!

P.S.: Imola video will be uploaded today. I got to work on the videos again, it will take some time but I will upload them.
P.P.S.: @Daddi80 it's alright, perhaps you can race with absents or something. I'll probably have to tweak the teams anyway as well since Vinch and boddo have troubles racing.
