Ride 2
Game is way too difficult; opponents going way faster.
The game is, simply put, way too hard. It's okay to make mistakes every now and then and crash a lot. Usually when I screw up I just laugh it off because I know I'll learn and get better. But this doesn't happen with this game. I take a turn pretty cleanly after crashing and restarting a few times, then I finally manage to do it, but when I get back on a straight someone always zooms past me. And that's when I have a bike on more or less the same level as the AI; same performance or PP (I think that's how the game calls it?). I try tucking in during straights, see if that helps, but no, same thing. Everyone is infinitely faster. I'd understand if I was taking a sloppy turn, or I held onto the brakes for longer than I should have, but that literally happens only in straights.

It's a real shame because I was looking forward to playing a good bike racing game and it's been years since I've played one. Maybe my expectations were wrong and I'm too used to arcade racing games where it's easy to pick up and play, difficult to master. Or maybe I don't feel like putting 5+ hours just to learn the bare basics. Or, at least, I wouldn't mind playing a game where I can learn from my mistakes... because I know what mistakes I'm making.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm just really disappointed. Will probably get a refund. =/

Probably not the game for you, as the AI is really stupidly easy, to be honest :/ I have been doing endurance races starting 30/40s later on purpose...

just an idea
high video option etc with little bit lower pc setup can cause bad bike behavior
( or even all other race game) and so make you slower than AI without lag effect.
look your framerate, if it not fix it can be the reason of your bad feeling.

Maybe so, man. And don't get me wrong, this game is great. It sets out to achieve what it intends to. The attention to detail is crazy, how you can adjust and customize your bikes the way you see fit, the tracks. But maybe it's just not my kind of game, as you said. I'd recommend it to enthusiasts for sure. Besides, I know I'm doing something wrong here, after all... I'll keep an eye out for other bike racing games. Something arcadey. There's gotta be more.

Sorry if I came off as a whiner btw... ^^;

Game was running pretty smoothly for me though, with most settings turned up except for AA, which was set at x2.

Honestly, the beauty is learning the game and perfecting your line, don't stress that you are slower than the enemies, just keep practising, finish the race even if u lose you get some money, new bikes are super cheap, put opponents on super easy difficulty and upgrade your bike asap.

Your bike should be near enough the max pp for the race.
I'm playing Ride 3 at the moment and I experienced exactly the same. It's rigged.
