Better then Ride 1 for sure. But it's a game.. with slighty better physics.
If you want a sim.. then GP-bikes is the closest to it on the market.
But on the other hand that almost only cover GP bikes, and not 100's of odd and fun little bikes from different time periods, and memories.
(and in GP-bikes you will wipe-out at least once a lap on the racing track you know best, even after 50 hours playtime.
(and the Tracks and Bikes are 3rd party ones there)

The physics are more arcade like, there are some unreal things that you can do on the bike like brake hard in full lean using standard tyres and do not fall or ride through grass in full lean. Anyway each bike class handles differently, need different approach or strategy to ride. In pro setting it is easy to fall if you brake on the curbs or hit the uneven part of the track. It is a balance of fun and reality but still I would correct some things.

Maybe all bikes are fitted with cornering ABS? :claugh:

I think the physics are fine, considering. I've tried a few "proper" sim motorcycle games, and didn't find them fun at all. I honestly think it's easier riding a bike in real life than in some of those games.

I ride in real life - it's basically what I live for in the summers - and I'm having a blast with this game. You know you can find out for yourself by buying it, and refunding within 2 hours if you're displeased? I would do that, because looking at gameplay videos doesn't really do it justice.

Thanks everyone! I like the idea of a game that has a lot of different types of bikes to try out and ride.

As long as it's generally realistic like Forza Motorsport for example. Not a hardcore simulator, but mostly realistic is what i'm looking for.

It's an arcade-sim. It's not intended to be a hardcore sim, but an in-the-middle thing.
To use an analogy: it is what Dirt 3 is to Dirt Rally, and what Forza is to rFactor 2 or iRacing.

It's not as realistic as their MotoGP games, and especially their old SBK games.
However it's far more realistic than Motorcycle Club and whatever you had in GTA V.

It has a similar type of arcadish progression system as in Forza and Gran Turismo, where you need to earn medals in order unlock new events, and grind up money to upgrade your bike and buy new ones.

Ride 2 is more of a casual game for me than the MotoGP and SBK games, in those games I would spend hours practising the track before a race. In Ride 2 I just jump in and get to it, no practise needed, it's not 'that' type of game.

My only complaint is that the AI is quite dumb, which can be very irritating if you approach the game as a sim game. However if you approach it for what it is, a more arcade-like title, the AI becomes much more tolerable.
