Masters of a Broken World vs. Imperium
As a long time Eador player, I'm curious who likes which game better and why? I am not including Genesis, because it is no longer actively supported by the developers (even though the New Horizons mod is still updated.)
I honestly like both games about equal, at this point. In general, MOBW runs a LOT smoother, overall, but Imperium has the map creator plus a whole bunch of new stuff. I do greatly miss the multiplayer from MOBW, but I can see it being difficult to add to Imperium without it being buggy as Hell. I also miss the epic story campaign from MOBW, but the objective-based campaigns in Imperium are fun, too! I just hope that someday we get the ability to turn our maps into campaigns, as well, via the map editor. I love the lich and pilot heroes, but am not too fond of sorceress and legate. When creating a random map in Imperium, I miss those special kind of worlds, such as World of War and Developed World. The Fire and Ice worlds are ok, but don't seem to be much more than a scenery/background change on the world map. The new units in Imperium are great, don't get me wrong - more is always better, imo, but it also creates some imbalances, overall. MOBW definitely seemed a bit more balanced.

When the original devs bailed on Imperium, I was pretty♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥and got banned from all the Eador forums, lol, but it's really nice to see the new devs continuing to work on the games, and thanks for unbanning me!

I think more people should create maps in Imperium and share them with people!

*QUICK EDIT* I also GREATLY miss diplomacy on shards, which you could do in MOBW :(

I like both, because imperium is better concerning improvements, but eador mobw is good when speaking about campaigns/storyline and technical state

I still prefer MoBW. Campaign gave it a greater purpose. I dig the new units in Imperium but youre still limited to the same # of builders per tier.

but imperium is much more better because of the improvements, like that the game keeps tracks of the locations+its monsters you visited, there s better employment of shortkeys and your units can rest after moving in battle (i am still not sure if this is an intention or a bug)

That is true, keeping track of monsters at places is pretty clutch.

snowbird took a loss on this attempt. they got hosed. Alexander the main coder admitted that
he was wrong to push for more funding from his benefactor, and to push so hard for imperium.

maybe people like me and you pushed him dopefisher. we meant the best. we knew what we saw was golden.... but the greater majority of the community on steam dismissed it. they
dismissed imperium and Alex got hosed. I absolutely loved the motbw shard campaign style
and pushed as hard as I could for it to be integrated into imperium. I had no idea the money
was not only shoestring, but no where near enough.... the the project was already in debt.
Alex kept that to himself until release.... you have to believe in your product... have to put your
best foot forward and just try....he did.

we got a pretty good game out of it, but snowbird suffered a loss, because not many among the
steam community were interested.... some of us WERE EXTREMELY interested.... just not enough to pay for the total development.

well done Snowbird, I'm sorry you took a loss. I look foward to seeing anything you come
up with next.

Marketing is and always will be tricky part. Competing on Video Games market is far beyond game quality since 10 or more years. It's about smearing campaings against competitors, bribing reviewers, youtubers, paying pro-trolls on forums / discussions. Making a loss in selling a game does not equal "bad game". It usually means that fair publishers are loosing to the crooks who break the rules as they desire.
Truth it, that nowadays a game is 'loved' and even bought, before released (and even before early access is released). Old cool mind tricks from last century 70' ... making people think, they want something (or that they don't want something)

Foul play is going on and those who do not play it in the fould way, awaits nothing more than low-sales.

There are very few gamers who are resistant to brain-washing methods and hence develop & keep their own opinion.

Good luck anyways!
