Red Screen of Death on start/ Mac Prefs File Where?

I am attempting to play on a 15" MacBookPro with touchbar. I get a red screen when I load the game, & then a black screen with a pointer & no UI. This obviously makes the game unplayable, & I am very unhappy.

I have sought advice on the main game forum, & received no response in almost a month.

I cannot find the prefs file in the location mentioned in the forum, which the sticky thread in tech support says might allow me to run in windowed mode. Please help.

1. Open [username]/Library/Appilication Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Children of a Dead Earth

2. Right-click on Children of a Dead Earth, and select Show Package Contens.

3. Open Contents/Resources/Data/Default Preferences.txt

4. Change Fullscreen from "true" to "false", save and relaunch.


After first succesful launch, the actual Preferences file is created. You can then adjust the fullscreen from it or from the game, and restore the default settings as they are.
