Multi-laser designs
It looks like no matter, how many lasers I stack, only 1 laser emitter is used. Heat and power requirements are calculated accordinaly. Is it possible to correct this to allow simultaneous emitters usage, if all of them have enemy target in sight?

Tried fitting them on the ship's nose? Makes a glaring weak-spot in the armour but if you're using them for long-range engagements and turn your ship broadside before getting within enemy weapon range it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Even if you put all 4 or 5 lasers at the nose, they still fire one at time it seems. Also, with conic hull, laser placed traditionaly, in theory, can fire simultaniously at the enemy straight ahead.

Did you make sure you have enough heat sinks? The number displayed in the editor is incorrect and doesn't take into account multiple lasers.
My lasers ships fire all their lasers (positioned at the front) unless the radiators are damaged.

Hm. You mean, if enough radiators are used, multiple lasers can be used at once? If so, that is cool, all we need is a simple note in the designer.

Don't forget: power.

1x13 MW laser is powered by a 13MW reactor.
4x13MW lasers require 52MW to all fire.

Yeah, that's the thing. You can fire multiple rail/coilguns with a single reactor because they have a very short cycling time, but lasers fire continuously, so they use the entire power from the reactor.

The designer gives you the power and cooling requirements to fire your weapon, not necessarily all of your weapons at the same time. The thinking is that additional weapon systems are redundancies, (notice how when you create additional weapons, they go around the ship, to cover different firing arcs) If you want to "FIRE EVERYTHING!!!" You need to multiply your power and cooling requirements accordingly.

This design of mine fires five modified stock green lasers. The modification is that max range has been increased to 250 km.
Also uses a custom reactor that radiates hotter - means I get by with less radiators.

Their effectiveness against enemy armor at range is probably a bug - I've had them eat through enemy armor to get at subsystems at the other side of the ship, at 100 km.

Perhaps. During alpha testing, lasers had a "Kill instantly flag" that slipped through for a while. However as I've gotten better at laser devleopment, I've been able to raise my domination profile, so I prefer to think it's me and not a bug. =D
