Thinking about buying it
Can you make Casaba howitzers in it? (basically a nuclear shaped charge with a theorectical maximum range of 1000km+ and melting a foot of aluminum at that range)

Ditto goes for any other exotic nuclear weapons and stuff like that.

If it has orion drive as an option, that's also great.

That was caused by a bug, though, that has long since been fixed.

The game generally only has stuff that is well understood IRL and for which there are physical models that aren't kept secret - for example it doesn't have Teller-Ulam devices.

On the plus side this means that realism is a big thing in CoaDE.

So, can "Project Orion" works in this game? there is a youtube video someone made about it, i really hope it not been fixed.

I would expect it to work because it should. It was a very crude proof of concept though, and not really practical in game - you'd need proper pusher plate, shock absorbers, shaped nukes and AI knowing how to handle all that, for it to be actually usable.

i played a old version of game, i believe was mission force projection, i just blow up the enemy ship with nukes, and it flying with speed 34km/s, but i never seem it anymore.

Nuclear shaped charges and nuclear pumping X-Ray lasers could be useful. As for the Orion drive, it's a pretty ridiculous design. Maybe ok for unmanned deep space exploration, but that's about it. Not worth the trouble including it here.

Why think about buying the game? Just buy it. There's a very good chance you'll like it. And if you won't, you can refund it.
If we were spoiled for choice, I'd understand your sitting on the fence, but there's pretty much zero alternative to this. The price is ok too.
However, if you absolutely need Project Orion, you could make use of Orbiter (which is free) or KSP.

Orion's a valid solution to move something heavy, really fast. Yes, ordinarily you're better off using conventional reaction drives on the lightest possible ship that can still do the job. BUT if you absolutely need to get a heavy battleship from Mars to Neptune, and you have an impossibly short time to do it, Orion is what you need. And also, by no means does it need to be unmanned. A large mass of metal, such as you would need anyway to absorb repeated nuclear blasts, will block out the vast majority of the radiation too.
And yes, bomb-pumped lasers/xasers/whatever-asers would have been nice, as would working Casabas. As it is, you can approximate the outcome using sufficiently powerful blast launchers, but you can't use the real mechanism to do it.

I disagree about Orion being waste of time. Yes, it is a ridiculous concept but it has wonderful Isp, thrust and is unkind to any incoming munitions when you attempt to dodge them. And it's wonderfully safe compared to, say, NSWR.

Anyway, since it's pretty much the ONLY game to date aiming at pedantically realistic space combat, there is no good reason for not buying it if you like the idea. You can't decide that you'll buy some other game that you think does the same thing better instead, because, as of today, this other game doesn't exist.
