its not a specific date, its just when a faction has so much popularity with the masses, that if that faction wins, the people will not hate them

People on other forums have said that it will start when you have around 35 settlements or so, but in both my Julii campaigns I had almost forty settlements and still had to initiate it myself by attacking another Roman faction. You'll get an ingame message that lets you know when your popularity is high enough to do so.

I finished the campaign without battling any of the other 2 families. I infiltrated 8 spies in Rome so that my spies could open the gates (the percentage went up to 102% xD ) and I could conquer Rome in a single turn. Then, when I had 49 settlements, I attacked Rome with 5 full armies, won with auto-battle and won the campaign. That way my civil war started only right after I won the campaign :)

the requirment for the long campaign is be sole ruler of rome and have 50 regions, thats what neorcm is talking about, but when you have a high popularity with the masses, you can initiate a civil war, idk if the ai does, im always the one who conquer rome in my games. but yeah there is no date or set civil war, if you want that then buy grand ages of rome or like imperium romanun gold

you should learn to spell "Prepare" before anything else

Yeah sorry about that and you should learn to not be a "♥♥♥♥" before anything else

The civil war can start in numerous ways.
If you fail too many senate missions and piss them off, they will start to ask you to kill yourself. Refuse and you are outlawed and civil war starts.
Also, if you take too many cities without being ask too. You can get a long game and have many cities if you only conquer what the senate ask you too. Basically a happy senate is letting you do things on your wn, but only so far.
At one point you will have grown too strong for them no matter what you do, and they will again start to kill yourself.
It can also simply start if you attack rome, should you decide that it is time.

I don't think the AI would start a civil war, but even if they did, they'd be too weak, (in tactics and unit strength) to do much, unless they had high population support.
