INVASIO BARBARORVM Install
It may be useful for people to see how I got Invasio Barbarorum to work on my system...turns out it isn't that hard. I was interested in the mod because of a Let's Play by SorcererDave.

I have a Win7 x64 Dell xps system.

Invasio Barbarorum has various versions, the one I chose, to match the let's play, was Flagellum Dei (sp?). It is available at

http://rtw.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=ct&f=9,8171,780,all

NOTE there is a version 7 AND a 7.03 upgrade. I downloaded both.

Then run the exe file for 7 and it asks for a path name....I used the master directory
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold (not the sub directory for Barbarian Invasion). The installer has a little ... button that let's you navigate to this directory. Once done, repeat for the upgrade 7.03.

Now the installer created a shortcut on the desktop...but it doesn't work. But I looked at the properties of the shortcut, and got launch info I needed...that is:

I went to my library on steam and found Rome Total War, right clicked, chose properties and clicked on Launch. Put in this:

RomeTW-BI.exe -nm -show_err -mod:ibfd

Then I started up Rome Total War as usual, and the mod launched fine. Note, that to go back and play Rome Total War vanilla, I had to erase the launch options above, then start.

Perhaps this will help someone.

Clarification: to start BI, use the steam library entry and choose to start barbarian invasion. Logical since invasion barbarorum is a mod of that game, not vanilla rome total war.

I might add that I have also tested briefly that after installing the mod, one can run Barbarian Invasion vanilla also if desired. Just remove the launch details as above, and start the game by right clicking Rome Total War in your library, and picked BI...seemed to run ok. So installing the mod doesn't seem to bother either vanilla game...though I haven't tested extensively!

Do you guys know if Europa Barbarorum works with Steam Rome TW?

I believe I have seen posts about how to do EB on Steam --- sorry I don't have the link at hand. So I think the answer is yes but I can't point you in the right direction at the moment.

Hello!

I just try to install but I have a some of questions

1-during the installation of the up-grade, the path wants to place it in a directory inside of the main mod directory. it is right?

2-regarding the steam launch menu, for start the game once I have changed the launch path under propieties.
I wrote this: RomeTW-BI.exe -nm -show_err -mod:ibfd
It is this complete?
should I use the normal icon on the desktop or the steam menu (if it is the case: Rome or BI?)
I try all but nothing.

the better result that I got it is the loading screen of Ivasion Barbarorum then some kind of error appear...

For anyone trying to install in 2023 or later, I made a video help walk through the install and errors I came across.
