Second one uterly useless
IS there a particular difficulty level that this issue occurs on, because I've not so far had the problem myself.
Since the more recent patch, units are a little more inclined than usual to sit there and die and have less initiative. Infantry will still defend from wardogs at the front but cavalry will just die if you don't move them. You'll notice in siege battles, that if you place units on a wall, they will often just stand there taking casualties when defending. They won't turn to meet the enemy like they did before.
They dont have all the numbers and stats of infantary. Also my problem was that they were targeting my light cavalary so I got absolutely destroyed and my faction leader got 5 dogs on top of him
Another good way to fend off war dogs if to have archers pick them off from a distance. Roman archers and Cretans are the best for this because of their range. Mass wardog groups simply get picked apart :D
I trie to pick them of but the AI tends to guard it in the last lines like if it was a general making you face enemy missle due to cheer range
Realesses 4 wardogs making me withdraw and then I put my infantry in front of it but they decided not to attack and I just loss 200 phalanx pikeman
