Remaster's 16 new playable factions?
I guess these have come from the barbarian tribes in the Barb Invasion DLC. But I seem to remember already playing as the Allemani way back, or was that was a mod ...

New factions are those that you could unlock via changing the game files, they are made properly playable now.
At least that is what people who streamed the gameplay of the game told us.

Included in the base game or will we need to purchase another 10 Culture packs?

Would be cool if they let you play the rebels
Flickmann Mar 28, 2021 @ 6:12am
I'm curious how they will implement the emergent factions in BI such as Slavs and Ostrogoths.

You can now play every single faction that exists in the game, except for SPQR and the rebels.

I can play rebels since I enabled it in the files but it would be cool if they actually let you in the base game

Will the Romano-British, Slavs, and Ostrogoths be playable in the BI campaign or only in custom battles?
Flickmann Mar 28, 2021 @ 12:26pm
They seem to be playable in campaign but it's not certain how it'll work out yet.

While the barbarian factions were indeed playable with that file tweak (thx Hoonii), I recall their start positions seeming quite tenuous.

Hopefully the little barbarians are getting some TLC.

Apart from playable factions have they done anything else to it, like have they made the ai better in battles or changed how dogs work etc?
Rhalius Mar 30, 2021 @ 1:11pm
I figure they might change the emerging factions in Barbarian Invasion to being present already at the start in some way. Romano British as a vassal to Western Roman Empire for example.

Barbarian Invasion needs a lot of fixing either way, that expansion was such a messy rushjob.
Somehow all new models looked worse than what was in the main campaign.
