How do you add Europa Barbarorum to the Steam version of Rome?

follow the instructions on the EB home site and the installer'll do it easy peasy, or at least it did for me on win 10

Europa Barbarorum is notoriously difficult to get working on steam. Like a lot of the mods the installation instructions are riddled with gaps and missing steps. I've watched so many step by step videos of how to get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing working on youtube and they all have completely different steps for the exact same task. It's ridiculous. Needless to say none of them have worked for me. I've been wanting to play it since it came out.

Nah I've installed it on multiple machines and it's not bad. You just install it in to the correct folder - I think most people who have trouble are unable to do that single function. And then patch it, and then add a few command line commands (IIRC -mod:eb) within steam. Works no problem.

There's really not. Anyways, OP, it is possible, and worth it, EB is awesome. http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?80270-A-guide-to-install-EB-screenshots-provided may help.

Bare in mind OP that this thread is very very old and concerns installing Europa Barbarorum on disk version rather than steam version (like you and I need). It would be incredible if the differences were simply a matter of installing the thing in a different path to a steam game folder rather than a game disk folder but unfortunately it's never that simple.

It worked for me the first time I tried

Just skip the multiplayer part if you do not intent to play against other human opponents. Don´t despair trying to get this mod running, it is worth it.

Also the best one I've been able to find. It also illustrates perfectly how much more is required to get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to work than they specify in the forums installation instructions. They miss out three quarters of the highly unintuitive steps.

If i were you i won't upgrade to 121c update, it crashes everytime for me/ i just have 1.2 with the fixes and it is fine to play
