Rome: Total War (gold edition) - Alexander
Hello everyone,

This is my first post on the Steam forum as I have a question regarding Rome: Total War. I owned the gold edition of RTW for many, many years and still regularly play it. The gold edition includes Barbarian Invasion, but not Alexander. I bought it on a disk and still have my product key. I managed some years back to get the game into my Steam library. Now it is mentioned as "actived as Rome: Total War Thirdparty Retail". I did NOT add the game as a non-Steam product.

My question now is: since I don't own Alexander, is it possible for me to purchase it through Steam? Or will I have trouble because I bought my gold edition on a disk?

Thank you for your answers in advance. I would really like to try Alexander as well. Even after all these years, this game remains great!
Best regards,
JensDB

yeah its 3.99 at the moment but imo is not worth it as the campaign is crap, BI expansion is so much better(which you already have).
You should not have any problems buying it as it uses a seperate folder and .exe.
if you want it for mods then it is worth it otherwise don't waste your money as most mods have a BI version.
Its supposed to be an improvement for the AI(sweet FA difference) and some other things like phalanx's holding formation.

Well the base game sucks but it's great for mods because of the features and impoved AI :)
