I quite like defending cities when the AI does actually assault. As you said, it can be pretty dumb and loses lots of men to towers and the like. I usually paste it by keeping archers on the walls and my heavies in the central plaza. But occassionally this strategy backfires and the AI sends in better units than I have and it beats me, despite taking major losses.
I agree the field battles are usually more fun than sieges but sieges can sometimes be fun. It can also be fun to the attacker in sieges, even if tedious at times.
I have to say though, as much as I love to role play & fantasize the glory of battle! I honestly think it would just be all over, if an entire army had rushed into your city! but defending the streets rather then the walls is literally the only proper way to defend.
you want to make attacking walls easy in RTW, play a game of M2TW and attack a few castles.
What no... l dont want it easy at all l never said that, dont place words in my mouth.
lm ranting how broken it is, l used to love to assult walls in CD version while in the steam the unit simply doestn stand in place so its impossible to do wall figthing.
Seing its broken and you cant get much benefit or get an advantage and tedious it, is why should l do it? This is my point dont go ahead and place words in my mouth
