Rome: Total War

Rome: Total War

Extended Greek Mod
I want to love this mod for the changes it brings to the factions and the rebalancing of morale in combat, I really do, but it honestly seems nigh impossible.

What kind of strategy are you exactly supposed to use when no matter what faction you play as, the enemies start with an absurd advantage in both numbers and unit power? It's especially bad as the Greeks as you have next to nothing while the Macedonians have full bannered armies. Play as Macedon, and immediately to your North, Gaul has 3 full-bannered armies around one town and you start at war immediately.

You can't play aggressively because you're outgunned and outmanned but you can't really hang back and try to build up a force either because you're outgunned, outmanned and the CPU is coming for you.

How are you supposed to play this?

I remember it was quite like playing as Rome in Europa Barbaroum the first time, you start off so feeble and surrounded by giant stacks everywhere. I remember I just did skirmishing and hit-and-run raids for ages to keep everyone demoralized whilst I built up forces capable of fighting.
