Gamespy is no longer a "thing" and so the game can't access the authorisations it needs to run; you'll need to either re-buy it as a steam game, or try and use your keycode in steam to validate it as a game you own on steam.
And yes, that sucks.

um if your code doesnt work contact the company. they will more inlikely give you a free cd key if you can prove you own the hard copy. like i did as my cd key was missing they replaced mine for no money just a over night chat.

The disc doesnt work due to a windows update. You remove the update and it works.

To get your cd to work... create an "elevated" command file - these are the prompts you need...

To set the driver’s service to manual, type the following command:
sc config secdrv start= demand

To disable the driver’s service, type the following command:
sc config secdrv start= disabled

Don't forget to reset after the game to manual and you're good to go. This has worked every time for me on Win 7 since hte windows update. You can use it for any cd using secdrv like MTW2.

Have fun. :)
