Conquering Rome

Is there a way to legally conquer Rome while playing as one of the Roman families? I know that you can get popular support and conquer Rome that way, but is there a way to get enough Senate support to take Rome? If so, how?

Yes you have to wait for your popularity with the people to increase past your popularity with the Senate. Eventually you'll have enough support to attack Rome, or the Senate will outlaw you and go to war if you get too big.

So not 'legally' because you're essentially rogue and have to go to war anyway.

you can wait or you can just attack when you got the forces to do so, bear in mind scipii and brutii are going to come after you as well and you also need to contend with spqr's forces. which ever choice you make, you still got to conquer rome at some point anyway.

i actually waited and waited as i grew in size wilth all of europe under my control except the british isles, the romans themselves decided to exile me because i wouldn't kill my leader as a form of suicide. so regardless, you will have to attack rome as one of the families when that time comes.
