I dont usually pay that close of attention once they get old, but I have seen 101 a couple of times.

There must be limit about 115 maximum or even more.. i haven't seen any general become 107 but I've seen 100 several times.. i guess that he'll be dead in some turns.. better take a screenahot of his age because you might not see an 107 years old general again :p

i just found i had a diplomat who is 118

Lol so the limit is higher than 115.. well, lets see how long they are gonna live.

Oldest general I had was 76 when he died, he was in a fully upgraded city so the health care probably helps. I guess? Battle generals seem to die of old age quicker.

Everything else is such a fixed roll of the dice in outcome, I have to wonder if it is simply based in lucky rolls and has no real limit. The odds would just get smaller each year until it is a pure 50/50 chance each turn until he dies. As long as he stays lucky he lives longer.

i just had a diplomat who was 127 and the next turn he got reset to 0 and is young again but kept his stats

I'd like to know where that diplomat is hiding the fountain of youth.

it seem the math for this version is slighly altered from the cd version.

birth :
-to get the best chance for any births at all, the number of generals you own must be lower than the number of provinces you own
-if the number of generals is number of provinces +5 you get no births at all
-woman can marry when they turn 12, and have kids between 16 and 50, kids the age of the general does not matter any more unlike cd version.
-if a woman is young enough for kids but her husband is dead, she will never have kids, and widows in this game never remarry
-a general must be at least 2 turns (1 year) in a town, and not having moved, to have a chance for kids. (this is down from cd versions 3 turns)
-no couple can have more than 4 kids
-the fertile trait as well as some other traits and the doctor (and some other ancilary's) increase the chance of having kids, while other traits may reduce or even remove that chance, being lunatic, gay, or neutered are some of those)
-if a character is suffering of the plague, he has no chance of getting kids.

death :
when a person (man or woman) turns 50, he can die, random chance of the dice.
-however this chance is low between 50 and 60
-between 60 and 80 this chance is quite high
however because of strange stuff, if a character makes it to 80, his chance to die drops down again, to the same chance it has between 50 and 60.
-if a character turns 128, he turns back to 0.. so it IS possible to live forever, theoretical.
-there are some traits that lower or increase the chance for death, being virile for example makes it impossible to die before 60, and you will see such a person will also not turn gray before 60, while some other traits increase the chance for death
-if a character is suffering of the plague, he will have a chance to die every turn, regardless of age, it is an idependant formula

I think its in that plain that they all seem to congregate around late game! :)

I have a war-going general 80 years old, he's not much of a city person, lives in a tent perhaps) I gonna use him to the end, i only have him and his grandson (Attacker) to fight, others suck.
That was somewhat fun - almost lost them in earthquake. Attacker was in the region, old guy was old somewhere else, random saves grandson, but old guy dies of old age and vice versa. Spent four hours or something replaying to save them both

Ah yes, the swamp party! Pretty sure everybod gets that. There's usually at least 8 diplomats in attendance.

here is one more hint about chance to die..
-if a general is out in the field... he seems to have a higher change to die.. than when he is comfortably ending the turn with his bum in a city..

Battle and field life carry that risk automatically, however, both also have the chance to increase longevity as much as diminish it. It comes back to how you are using them.
