Watch Tower Bug
So.. alll these years later and no-one fixed this...Sigh. For those who don't know - in some territories you can't build a Watch Tower. Now this is the case when a territory is experiencing a flood. Thing is, the clock on the flood doen't reset - so you can't build a watch tower in that territory for the rest of the game. I only figured this out after trawling some old forums. Think I will finish the current game and move on to Roma Surrectum or Europa Barbarorum....

If you want to fix most of the errors, get a new map, and the game play completely differently with all factions balanced and playable

Tah very much!

This is a version I know is working and has no bugs. It is by no means the only version available and if you have Alexander I can give you more mods made from the same base mod. Yes, this is my disclaimer that I am pushing no one in particular and this is just the link I had available or reached first to share...lol

Seriously, if there is something you do not like about that version, let me know and I will give you more options. But I already know you will get lost in that huge map and the new way the factions interact for awhile before you start deciding! lol

I have Alexander. I also have Windows 10 and obviously Steam. I have just extracted TEX to the steam location of Rome Total War - (should I have put it in the custome folder?) However I'm a little confused about the shortcut instructions and I'm just playing around with that now.

It has already installed to its own folder

Thanks again - been playing for some hours now and really enjoyed it. Such a better looking and operating game!! TEX didnt work the first time I loaded it up but a new set of folders was created so I switched the data anbd icon files there and it worked a treat. That map is huge! Will have to figure how I can rename Cannae to Canusium however. Cannae erks me a little - great battle, tiny settlement. :-)

That link will be handy too. Cheers.

Again a big thankyou HazardHawk. I played the TEX mod for about a week before I got curious about what else was available: I am now playing the AUC mod and it's awesome - though the battle sequences can be a little slo-mo when too much is going on. Cheers again
