Vr mode won't recognize my controllers
I'm trying to play this in vr but I can't even leave my menu screen, the game doesn't show my controllers even though steam vr recognizes my controllers, I've tried pressing buttons, pointing, but nothing works, is there a fix for this? I'm using a quest 2 with virtual desktop if that helps

Are you launching through steam vr itself and not normal steam? Whenever I have an issue with quest 2 linked to pc if I don't launch vr stuff through the steam vr interface it has issues.

I've got what sounds like the same issue on my Index. Starting the game goes to what appears to be the main menu, but with no menu. I can bring up the menu by hitting escape on the physical keyboard, but can't interact with it except by tilting my headset at weird angles (it seems to think my headset is a mouse, or something), and can't seem to reliably select anything.

I was able to eventually get into the starting tent, but the VR controllers still did nothing. I could look around and such by turning my head, but other than that only using the keyboard allowed me to move.

The keybindings menu in the SteamVR settings also said it was in legacy mode or something of that nature, so it looks like maybe the game is expecting a different kind of inputs than what the Index controllers are sending?

I had the same problem - launching the game with Virtual Desktop, I can get to the menu but the controls stop working. Decided to try running it with Airlink rather than VD, and selected 'launch in experimental VR mode', and finally got the game running.

Wow, it actually works, I changed my controls to left handed so I can have turn on right analog, it is only teleport but works, nice.

so are you saying start airlink then launch it in vr mode from the desktop, NOT steam vr?

From the Meta Quest you need to launch the game from the Oculus PC application. You may need to install it if you don't have it on your PC. After installing it and Steam VR the Oculus app becomes aware of your Steam VR games somehow and you can open them from the Oculus application. For other VR headsets, IDK.
