Feedback for VR beta
I've not played this in 2D before, I started right away using VR. Very creepy!

I'm using Rift + Touch controllers.

- The launcher option talks about SteamVR, but I haven't got SteamVR installed (I'm using an Oculus). I suggest to change this string to "Oculus Rift" in this case.
- The menu is very hard to use, the laser often is not visible but still I can activate the option.
- There are some options in the menu that make no sense in VR, e.g. viewing angle.
- The starting point was confusing, as I was too tall for the tent and my head sticking out a bit. From this perspective, I could not even recognise it was a tent, thought it was a globe of some kind. It took a while for me to understand and finally sit down. Maybe you should make the player sit down at the beginning of the game.
- At about the room with the first drawbridge, the audio became more and more jittery. I had to save and reload (without quitting) to fix this from time to time.
- Generally I think movements should be quickly animated, especially unexpected movements like falling down a bit. It's very hard to reorientate after an unexpected movement.
- Some explanations for the controls would be nice. The in-game comments do no clarify if the left or right thumbstick or trigger is meant.
- The sound of the game doesn't heed the Oculus device setting "Audio output in VR". It always goes to Windows, which in turn sent it to my AV setup. I had to send it back to the Rift manually using the Windows audio output setting, which works but it is unexpected.

I'm now at ~15%, it got too scary and I had to take a break (-:

Sound sturttering sounds like a buffering issue, I experienced it as well. If you click pause, click on the steam menu and then unpause you can get rid of it as well - this probably resets the buffer the same as saving/loading?

Let me guess, you got to the second bridge and noped the ♥♥♥♥ out? lol

Just as some feedback for the devs, I'm getting the same sound stuttering issue as well after about 15-20 minutes. Takes a reload of the game to get it back to normal (tried the above suggestion from Lurkz about pausing and going to the Steam menu, but it didn't work for me).

I'm having sound stuttering also. I took headset off, went to steam menu, then chcked my CPU/GPU usage etc, went back into game and it was good again for another 15 min or so. And yea, I took a break after jumping around the bridges.. got good and creepy. Also when that dude shows up the game seems to act up a bit. Super cool though!

The visual distortion is part of the game, though due to that, when I first started getting audio distortion I thought it was supposed to be there due to the visual effects that happen at certain points! It was only after a few minutes when it started to get really bad that I realised it wasn't :p

I also had the stuttering, but then as I was trying to traverse the long ledge to get to some kind of "pickup", there was no way for me to aim the teleporter without either falling off, or getting stuck in a wall, so I can't get past that part. I've respawned and retried, and even switched to left-hand mode, so I can get a different angle on the ledge with the teleporter, which helped a bit, but I still always get to a point where the teleporter either doesn't function, or I get thrown into the abyss.

Oh, and after I die, the audio stuttering stopped.

When the sound stuttering apperas for me i simply press the home button. Steam VR home appears and i press the home button again. Back in the game stuttering is gone. Should be simple to fix.

Cool. I'll try that next time. I did find that restarting the game worked and put me back basically where I was...and I got past that ledge and now I'm dealing with that scary-ass lake...

Ok same here with sound stuttering, will try this with steam vr home..
Well, can't access steam vr home while ingame, the only workaround sems to make a savegame and reload it .

Try to crouch , that worked for me, you can't aim because you are into a wall, so crouching puts you off of it. :)

Yeah try crouching, ot maybe you followed a wrong track. E.G. when you approach the first "beeing" i went the first time straight past him and followed that way. Later on i remembered that i could have gotten to the right when i first passed him. I did not want to miss out something so i went back to see what was on the right path. That pass was the way to go. So i guess the other way was a dead end. If you can´t teleport you are likely not supposed to go that way...

I was able to get past that point after a game restart. Now I just want to get out of the freaking lake, but I can't figure out how to get out without going through the water and bringing on the attack.

oh man i think you are further in the game than I am. No lake so far...
BobDoyleVR Jul 11, 2017 @ 4:40pm
Finally got past that lake...

Developers, I'm sorry this wasn't more of a success for you, because it really is great, and particularly as a VR experience. And the boat ride had me feeling like Willy Wonka...great stuff.

Just finished it. Wow, guys. Amazing emotional experience there at the end. Great music too. I guess I was your perfect audience. I loved the whole thing.
