I'm sure you're right.
Only play PC games in VR... Only tolerate non-VR on iPad.
There's a growing movement of vr gamers who only play vr games. Understandable really. Being in the game world with lifesize imagery versus small 2d window. I played games on a tiny window for decades. Got tired of it even before oculus dk1 came along.
I mostly only play VR games for the same reasons as you. I also usually prefer smooth locomotion but it really depends on the game and the execution. However I wouldn't refund a game for it's locomotion alone. Certainly not without giving it a fair shot.
Here's the thing... I started with VR in 2006. Never needed teleport. Never vomited due to VR.
I learned to accept some types of teleport where it doesn't destroy the immersion of look of a game... examples are Raw Data with dash teleport and In Death with the archery locomotion. Smooth locomotion was added to In Death some time after launch but the archery teleport works so well I prefer it. Crucial point is that it's not blink or instant move. It's dash/zoom teleport which helps preserve the immersion.
Take your VR headset off... go outside. Close your eyes, run 10 steps forward... open your eyes. Look around... Close your eyes... run 20 steps forward... open your eyes.... Then tell me how disorienting that is...
Blink and instant teleports are the absolute worst forms.

Serious Sam First Encounter VR
RELEASE DATE:

^^^ Released well after the nausea hysteria that crippled nearly all VR games. Serious Sam VR and many others by this time had smooth locomotion options.
1: This developer ignored VR game trends and only catered to a small minority who suffer extreme nausea.
2: Developer then abandons his game and people who supported him by buying his game.
I will never buy this game again and I will never play it again.
Yup, and I guess the dev has abandoned VR game making.
Lmao!
Your complaints for lack of a VR mode are VERY valid and i feel for you. However i dont think the game is a sin if you play a first person game in non VR.
Im sure VR is spectacular in its own way. Ambi Light is an nice Alternative effect
