Drops are random so there is no real way of knowing where to farm. Most of the sets are trash, however, and you will end up quickly replacing them.
What you should farm are monster infrequents. There is a guide somewhere on them here on steam. Unlike sets, they can be enchanted with relics, which means everything in this game, especially as you go into higher difficulties and resistances spike. These also take time but if you find the guide and you know what you want you can really narrow it down and speed up the process by farming a specific type of montser.
But as @Cmaroljub Grozni stated, that is what I look out for. Green m.i's.
There are so many to mention, but 2 quick examples are: Blacksteel armour, drop from the Eldjotun on the way to Surtr. All 4 pieces (in normal) have high a/r, 30% pierce resistance, Helm and arms +1 to Rune, Torso and legs +1 Earth (+2 in epic, +3 in legendary). That is just the base buffs, you can find them with other affixes added as well, even "veteran", "mountaineer" affixes etc. Once slot relic/ charm in, they make for a great armour.
Ismenes gear, only 3 pieces, drop from Lamians. In normal Ismenes Cuirass +20% Pierce Damage, 40% Pierce Resistance.
Ismenes Helm, +20% Poison Damage, 40% Poison Resistance.
Ismenes Bracers +20% Bleeding Damage, 40% Bleeding Resistance. In Legendary resistances become 80% and damage 40%. Again just base affixes, they can come with more. Once picked up a Hallowed Ismenes Helm. Then relic or charm and they too are great.
Outside of the big bosses, farm for useful monster infrequents (some MIs are BIS, can be rolled with excellent fixes and socketed with a charm/relic) and relics / charms (useful for enchanting greens/MIs and crafting artifacts).
I have a pretty good stash of loot stored away at this point so when I do feel like doing a bit of farming I mostly just farming end game legendary.
