Just maxing all skills not gonna help you as well if you don't know how to position, kite and stall fights to drink HP bottles. And yes, reflection dmg is super strong, you have to either find some gear that reduced reflect dmg or not hit enemies in such areas at all, or hit non-directly (pets, AoE ground dots, your own reflect).
When you have 9k health its great, you just need some great gear armor, and even so it might be weak against some types of attacks. 9k health still gives you a good chance t oavoid enemies., though. I can only agree with you, the game is not balanced.
Archer is by far the easiest class to master, as you can shoot and run, rinse and repeat.
Fire and poison bows are amazing. They will cut down most enemies and bleed them fast.
