Thanks but I made a mistake in my initial post; I'm going through ALL of normal not just staying in act 1. Been grinding act bosses from 1 through Typhon and will regrind 4 when complete it. Act 1 Telkine dropped "2 of 3" at least once, Act 2 Telkine dropped "2 of 3" 3 times, Typhon has dropped "2 of 3" once so far (still working on him). So any act boss can drop any difficulty relevant key then?

Are we ABSOLUTELY SURE about this? Because the SAME pink "2/3" dropped AGAIN just now. That's 6. Exclusively of the same one...

I'm wondering... is this because I don't have EE? Like when Ragnarok came out the inaccessible throwing weapons would still drop in player's games who didn't get Ragnarok yet, but it would be a wasted can't-pick-it-up drop? Something like that only without EE, instead you only get the same key over and over?

Are there any patch/update notes I can read about this?

I would like an official, OrangeText name answer:

Am I getting nothing but the same key over and over because I have not purchased EE? There's no harm in answering that.

Conversely, can anyone else WITHOUT EE confirm they are able to get more than just 1 of the SAME key constantly?

There's 4 of the pink "Key 2/3" in my transfer storage already, from just 1 character in the span of a day.

Another 1 is already placed in the lock of that same character's game world.

A second character had a few drop, again THE SAME PINK KEY 2/3 in their gameworld as well; 1 was placed in the lock the other was stashed.

That same, single, solitary pink "2/3" key is the only key that is dropped for me from Act 1 Telkine through Typhon. Can't speak about Haders or Surtr yet, but honestly, why would that be different since allegedly any difficulty relevant key "Can" drop from any of the act bosses?

This is not plain old RNG is it. This is because you have to buy EE isn't it.

Just say so. It's "we're going to waste an item chance on a drop you can't touch because you didn't buy Ragnarok" all over again, from a slightly different angle; "hey see these cool new portals? You need 3 keys, but no, you didn't buy EE, so you're only going to get this one specific key over and over until you buy EE." It's fine, just say so.

Chaos Key drops should not be affected by DLC. The best bosses to farm are Typhon and Hades. I would go with Typhon as it is the most convenient with distance.

Are you exiting the game entirely to reset the seed? Also try moving on and farming Hades to see what he might drop.

It's nothing to do with having to buy Eternal Embers, it's just unlucky RNG on your part so try the reset seed by exiting the game entirely.

I'm having a similar problem. I have key 2 (can't remember where I got it) but now the bosses aren't dropping any keys. Lost count of the number of times I've fought Typhon.

My thread is old and I was overreacting. It will eventually drop. It's working fine.
