I Did It!
For the first time in a very long time, I've managed to beat the game! The first I did year ago, I was a Conqueror, but back then I didn't know how to make a good character. Back then I only put one point in skills I planned to use while climbing the mastery. Only after I maxed both masteries did I start pumping more points into skills. As a result, he wasn't very powerful and there were times when I struggled. I still won without any deaths, though I did have some close calls.

This time, I did things much differently. I pumped certain skills necessary for my character until maxing them and have only maxed one mastery while having gone only halfway up the other. I was a Hermit, relying on my pets to deal damage and get through the game. I had maxed Call of the Wild, Survival Instinct, Strength of the Pack, Earthbind, Heart of the Oak, Permeance of Stone, Terracotta Servants, and Chi Realignment. I also had a point in Refresh, Aura of Tranquility, and Maul. I had four extra skills to all levels in Nature from equipment to get the wolves the strongest they could possibly get. I saved the majority of my stat points, spending them into intelligence to wear better gear. I must have more than sixty unspent points at the end of the game.

Other skills I plan to get with this character in the future include the Plague tree to debuff my enemies, the elemental spells so I can deal damage on my own, the potion buffs, Huangdi's Favor, Spreading Influence, Consequences, Mutual Suffering, Weakest Chakra, as well as maxing Aura of Tranquility, and getting Reverberation, and Melding Armor. I think the Hermit is best played as an elemental Huangdi caster with pets, though I'll need plenty of extra skill levels from equipment to do so.

Though I have conquered normal with this character, I think there is more to do in that skill level. I haven't found all the spell pieces or collected all the chaos keys to open the Fissure of Chaos. So before I start another character, I want to go back and finish up this unfinished business.

I was at level 51 when I finished Normal mode. Pets are quite powerful against crowds of enemies, especially when you use Earthbind. Of course, wearing jewelry that adds damage to pets makes them even stronger. But they do struggle against certain bosses and I had to keep running to stay out of the way. Sometimes i had to resummon my minions during the battle. Maybe having some spells to inflict damage of your own would help. I think that's why pet builds are weak against bosses because you rely on them to do the damage. But that's what Scrolls of Vulnerability are for.

I managed to farm for all of the chaos keys and even went partway through the Fissure of Chaos, stopping at the Loot Altar. I also managed to beat Tartarus. However, I don't think my Hermit at this point is strong enough to master the Pit of Tartarus or the Fissure of Chaos. I might need more skills first.

Next, I'm going to farm Loki for his wand so I can undo the curse he cast over the Scandvia King.

Congrats on doing so. You beat the game with one type of character, but each different class has a completely difference experience, especially at epic and legendary level.
