Build advice
third attempt. Wtf is wrong with this forum ?

Soooooo, hi everyone.
I tried this game a few times and never really made it past a few hours. Id like to give it a real try but im having a hard time choosing a class. I dont have time to try them out sadly.
Can someone help me here ? Is there a good video or something that compare classes?Maybe share your favorite class or any info you deem relevant.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thx

Here are a couple of great helpers :
Almar´s TQ build guides ( he also have a YouTube channel you can check ) :
https://www.almarsguides.com/computer/games/titanquest/builds/

Line of Epic Heroes YouTube channel , "Titan Quest Anniversary/Ragnarok Which class to play with, for beginners " :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVitSwdS-ac&t=15s
More a question of what sort of playstyle do you like?

Thx ill go watch the video soon.
I like caster a lot and dislike archers. Melee is fine too.

If you want a character that's simple to play and is able to go through the entire game with ease, try a melee Haruspex (Hunting/Dream). Hunting might seem like an Archer Mastery, but it also has skills that are meant to be used for fighting with a Spear and Shield combo and some great passives. Dream provides survivability and Phantom Strike from Dream is among the best melee skills in the game. Study Prey from Hunting is also best debuff in the game that allows you to destroy enemies quickly no matter their resistances. Trance of Wrath is also overpowered on Normal difficulty and makes normal enemies melt simply if you walk near them.

If you don't want to choose the Hunting Mastery, then a Conqueror (Warfare/Defense) is a good character too. If you want to focus on dual-wielding instead of carrying a shield, then Harbringer (Warfare/Dream) is a great class to play.

For casters, I'd suggest you avoid the Elementalist (Storm/Earth) for the time being and just choose one of those Masteries (probably Storm, it's much better IMO) and focus on one damage type. I'd suggest making a Druid (Storm/Nature). Storm gives you all the damaging spells you'll need, while Nature will provide pets and supportive skills.

I would recommend Ranger (Nature/Hunting).

Hunting is really strong damage dealer with focus on ranged weapons, including throwning weapons. You have much less problem avoiding bosses and elites attacks with ranged character, and leveling strength/dextirity is good for heavy armor. If you get additional movement/attack speed, it's very easy to play as hunter.

Nature giving additional buffs and pets as meat shields. It also have great skill "Refresh", which can be used to reduce cooldown on strong abilities.

There are indeed a lot of classes and I also think that Titan Quest needs some time to get going build wise.

So it's definitley hard, but you can go for one class and choose the second one just for one or two skills as well. That might be easier...

Also I hope you have heard of "Titan Quest Calc"? A nice website where you can build your character and see which level is needed etc.

I have some characters on a higher level and they are all a lot of fun, I exclude ranged characters now bc of what you mentioned haha, but I recommend:

Warfare + Defender: very strong and versatile, albeit quite standard :D still lots of fun

Nature + Defense: Very tanky and the wolves truly add a lot of value to your meele build, it is amazing to play

Defense + Hunting: Shield and spear is a great combo and makes lots of dmg while still being tanky

Rogue + warfare: TONS of dmg/dmg over time but also VERY vulnerable

Spirit + Nature: If you like to summon pets, thats the way to go

Rune + any meele class: Warrior + Caster combined is also very fun, you also have the skill to reduce strength requirements, so it is easier to get good gear.

My highest level char is warfare + earth magic: that is a nice combo, a great meele build with very powerfull spells later on. But i have to admit you need to get to a high level before this build really works.
