"Repick Stat Points Potions:
5 new potions that allow players to repick their stats individually.
1 potion that resets all 5 stats all together.
Potions can be obtained only in the new Dungeons or in Electrum Orbs."
You are going to get them later down the line.
If you want to respec your attributes, you will have to wait till you're around lvl 60 ish, well later into Epic difficulty, and even then you will have to spend 20 hours or so farming keys, just to get into the dungeon where they have a chance to drop them. So there's a high chance you will never find these respec potions if you aren't committed to the game for 60+ hours, that's why I recommend the tool. These potions are most beneficial to new players, but they are inaccessible to them. Sorry.
That being said, I can trade you some if you want
While at it, how do the pets scale in this game? Do they use any of the summoner's stats? Like if I put on a very powerful weapon, will their attack also be boosted or do I need to only look at "bonus to pets" that I only seen on rings so far? I know some games use a fraction of player character stats to help with pet scaling.
Yeah it's easy, you just run the executable, it doesn't even install anything.
Pets scale off the following things, and I put them in order of significance:
- Skill Rank
Increases pet level and stats:- attributes, damage, health
- "Bonus to All Pets"
They do not scale off player stats at all
- Difficulty
pets get increased scaling on epic and legendary
- Buffs that affects allies
So things like Heart of Oak, Earth enchantment, Art of the Hunt, Battle standard will affect pets
You have the Nightmare from Dream, that gives you a Bonus to All Pets, as well as two trances of choice that buff them.
Defence has battle awareness, and Rally
Warfare has battle standard
Hunting has Art of the Hunt, and call of the hunt and even Study prey (debuff)
Spirit has dark covenant, spirit ward, circle of power and deathchill (debuff)
Earth has Earth enchantment, heat shield
Storm has storm nimbus and wisp
Rune and neidan are the most selfish pet builds, they are mostly debuffs. Rogue has absolutely nothing that buffs pet, aside from it's own pet in Lay Trap
You should be using 3 wolves in Act 1, you can do this by getting +2 to nature mastery, at 18/16 you will be able to summon a third wolf. You can find this affix on amulets or staves, or even use a Mastery shrine (gives you +4 to all skills), to summon a third wolf while the buff is active that is permanent until it dies
Very later, the flat damages help more, but. I agree that the pet gear is not varied though, I feel like they're already too OP that might be why they didnt add random stuff like "Bonus to All Pets +30% attack speed", you'll mostly find flat damage/10% total speed.
Look out for/farm these items early on
Wanderer's
+1 to all skills in Nature Mastery
Equipment:
Staff
Amulet
Puppetmaster's
+5.0 Energy Regeneration per second
Bonus to All Pets:
+200 Health
+10% Total Speed

of Convocation
Bonus to All Pets:
20% of Attack damage converted to Health
+20% Total Damage
Equipment:

You can get get the flat damages if you want like
Beastcaller's (Multiple possibilities)
Bonus to All Pets:
8 Vitality Damage
+5% Vitality Damage
Bonus to All Pets:
8 Elemental Damage
+5% Elemental Damages
Bonus to All Pets:
10 Physical Damage
+5% Physical Damage
Equipment:
Staff
Amulet, Ring
^These will keep scaling to higher tiers, until
100 Damage
+15% Damage
The obvious ones were mentioned: buffs to your character (+damage of some type to pets), your skills and auras, but there are way more ways to buff pets:
Debuffs on enemies, including resistance reduction -%, % and - in that order, offensive ability reduction with the same order, armor reduction, speed reduction, regeneration reduction (the enemy will die sooner), crowd control on the enemy like stun, knockback or disruption.
Having more mana and/or mana regen means you can recover your pet numbers quicker during more dangerous fights. Cast speed means you can support your pets with buffs on them and debuffs on enemies in quicker succession.
Having healing options means you can prevent your pets from dying, particularly relevant if the pet needs to charge up or has activated a timed ability.
Pulling aggro yourself means the pets can deal damage without being focused down.
Some abilities are much stronger than others, like the warfare flag.
