Tips to beat The Torch-Lighter's Gauntlet quest?

Hello, I am trying to beat the Torch-Lighter's Gauntlet quest on legendary difficulty but I am having a hard time keeping the torchbearer alive. This is the Act IV side quest where you need to escort a torchbearer to a beacon and defend him from undead hordes. I have beat this quest on normal and epic difficulties, but on legendary the undead deal a lot of damage and it takes me quite some time to kill them.

My main issue is that during the second (final) wave the torchbearer is no longer covered by the ledge and is hit by the archers. In essence, I can't deal with the archers fast enough and keep the melee undead from hitting the torchbearer.

Is there any trick to beat this quest? Are there any items or skills that could help me beat this quests? I am using a Brigand (Hunting/Rogue) build, I am using the Spear Dance and Flash Powder to distract the enemies. Also, I cast Herbal Remedy over the torchbearer before each wave but the health recovery is negligible.

Try it with Scroll of the Crushing Vortex and kill all the undeads in this area before you activate the quest...

Thank you very much! I have obtained the Divine Scroll of the Crushing Vortex today just by chance and I have beat the quest in my first attempt!!! The torchbearer has ended with a slim health bar, an additional hit would have killed him, lucky me.
