The portal stone is really hard to target yeah. When you place it and not move at all you simply can't use it even if you targeted it properly. After you move you can use it just fine but it is hard to target.
There are numerous other issues that i noticed like:
You can get stuck (and have to go back to main menu) on chests when you click the "chest name" text.
If you open a portal stone next to a barrel or something you can get stuck as well after you go back through the portal.
ok, at least for the skill I found out that there is no "auto self target", even when playing in single player. so you can only execute the skill when the mouse cursor is OVER your character. really stupid game design
Basically it feels like the "click zone" on monsters, teleport stone, merchants, etc, is off by a bit vertically.
I also noticed the auto self cast thing too, but I DO believe I remember it being that way in the original game.
Not a total deal breaker but it can be annoying when you are swamped by monsters and not attacking because you "missed" even though your mouse was clearly over one of them when you clicked.
The auto target self would have been a QoL improvement, I guess it was like that in the original game.
Also my characters from 2007 (yep still got em) seem to be messed up. They don't have quests completed, but I can still start the game on Epic or Legendary but if I go back to normal, I can not access many parts since the game thinks I never done the campaign quests and some can be started but not all. Oh well, I wanted to start a new character anyway. :)
At least we can finally increase the game speed, the original was so slow. Best setting in the anniversary edition.
You have to move away from it and before clicking on it, your mouse has to highlight it. If you click and you move your cursor just a bit it won't work. Try again.
