Network Problems detected
Playing offline in GOG version (I put this here in steam because the devs may read it) in the main menu I click on "Play Titan Quest". The character screen shows and when I try to switch characters or click on "Start" nothing happens. After some seconds a message box pops up "Network problems detected.". After confirming the message I can switch characters and start to play.

Just to be clear - I want to start a Single Player game, not play online. My network doesn't allow any application to directly access the Internet, so no, it's not gonna happen that I allow TQ to access multiplayer servers to play single player...

Is there a way to turn this new behavior of the game off?

There's no way to disable this, it's likely because the game tries to connect to the online multiplayer lobby authentication, when it can't do that, it will return the error. This error has no effect on playing the game offline, except if you are trying to farm, then it becomes unbearable to continue to click through the prompts over, over and over in the main menu. The only way to stop it is be connected to the internet.

OK, but when you buy a game on GOG it is supposed to be DRM free, so right now this game is breaking the rules of the site :/

I'm not an expert, but from what I understand about DRM, is that it doesn't need GOG, Steam or a dependency to run the .exe/app, meaning you own the files and are free to transfer them/use them wherever. It's not locked down like it is on Steam.

As far as I'm aware, that's true for the GOG version. You can run it straight from the folder without GOG. However, if you think that it violated some other ToS of GOG, you can feel free to report it.

Yes, I can, but I'd rather just have the developers fix it. Oh come on, it doesn't seem that hard.

thanks for your understanding.

That's not DRM. It's just a minor inconvenience to click that window away. It doesn't prevent you from doing anything (well, play multiplayer, but duh, no internet).

Yes, it seems that it doesn't cause problems, but it's more than anything annoying every time you start a game that the window with the message appears. And it breaks the immersion that music achieves.

If you could solve it I would be very grateful.

I'm just a moderator, so I can't :) But feel free to report it: https://redmine.thqnordic.com/projects/titan-quest-eternal-embers-community/issues/new
