Grim dawn or this?
Hi, I'm new to ARPGs and want to get into one. I've played some of grim dawn and I'm not a huge fan of the class fantasy/setting but willing to push through to see what it has to offer.

I've heard a lot about titan quest and want to ask what peoples opinion was of both games or just titan quest. Thanks!

Titan Quest is Grim Dawn's spiritual predecessor so there are similarities between the two games. TQ has a brighter setting if you like and it's a simpler game to learn/play than GD is.

Considering you're new to ARPGs and neither game has a "seasonal" feature (at least officially) I'd recommend why not both? I'd start with this though for lots of reasons. If you're willing to get a few things set up we could play co-op if you'd like as well.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies! I've picked up titan quest and will be playing when I can get a chance. I appreciate the invite but can't commit the time to multiplayer very often.
Grim Dawn is sort of a spirtual successor to TQ, some devs from TQ original release worked on it and it has the same dual mastery type class system and engine. Its newer, smoother, superior mechanics, etc.

TQ's received a lot of support from the devs (anniversary edition, 3 new DLCs and plenty of free QOL improvements) but its a pretty old game. It's still very popular through. Many players enjoy the mythological setting. Many interesting enemy designs and diverse levels to explore. Grim Dawn's setting is very post apocalyptic, honestly I prefer TQ's setting and atmosphere.

The others summed it up fairly well: as a spiritual successor title from the devs of the core game and Immortal Throne you'll find a lot of gameplay refinements and improvements in Grim Dawn, on the flipside the mythological setting and music in Titan Quest stand on their own.

If you're newer to ARPGs then Titan Quest's age should make it easier to get into. Just know that at low levels you aren't necessarily meant to max out each skill as you go. Some skills work just fine with 1 point at the start, while others have specific breakpoints for additional benefits. Generally speaking anything that improves on projectile/fragment counts will provide a nice boost in damage. Percentage-based bonuses are always welcome as well.

Can't stress this part enough. When I was new to ARPGs I viewed it as "hey lets max out this skill I know I wanna max first then go to the next," and I was properly stomped because of it in almost any ARPG.
