Godtier builds?
Back when I used to play I remember that there were a few "godtier" builds.

We had the haruspex which would have 100% dodge a majority of the time and was an (Nearly) unkillable class. (80% max dodge nerf)

Brigand who would deal an outrageous amount of damage (Split nerfed...) and have massive sheet damage

Conquerers who were tanky SoBs who could get nearly every resist maxed and still kick ass. (More resistances go down in difficulty making this much harder to achieve...

Pet builds (Soothsayer I played) who could hold their own much better than now... (Major monster buff in Act3+4... Pets die in milisecs even in epic. Not sure if legendary fixes it...) Sure you can deal dmg yourself but I never liked that part of the build.

These are the builds I mainly used back in the day... So does anyone know what the new "godtier" builds are now a days? Or if they still are the usual ones. (Also if I forgot anyone feel free to tell me)

I honestly have no idea why people keep saying this. Pets are fine in act 3/4 epic. I have two pet classes in legendary that went through epic like it was butter, and legendary (act 3) is fine thus far... If your pets are that squishy then some pet skill points, or support skills, or pet gear is missing?

I use pet staff, black pearl jewellery and conquerers mark artifact. the rest of my stuff is ok, but nothing special (some battlemage pieces for all the DA and health, a hallowed helm...absolutely terrible resists so I'm trying to remedy that ahead of act 4).

I summon my wolves with +4 nature skill items on, and then summon my lich with +1 spirit gear on. My wolves seem to die in 2-3 hits and get insta killed by Typhon. The only thing that is keeping me alive versus bosses is my Lich but in Hades he does hardly any damage and gets killed pretty quickly as well. I use plague, and respeced most of my points into my lich so he's tany af. I use a pet staff, rings, and neck for +damage along with an artifact that gives my pets +15vit damage if I remember right. I also have heart of oak maxed out along with the +Resists it gives. Don't know hw people can survive(I mean pets can survive) I tried switching to armor for my pets on my girl but the pets still die very quickly.

Because they now deal bleeding damage with their AoE though they struggle a lot. Due to the fact that a lot of enemies take 20% damage from those effects...

Then I'm stumped. I can't see that the regen from my build keeps them alive because they just don't seem to take much damage.

I did lose one wolf on the Typhon fight but it was over very quickly. Act 4 went super fast, I met a dactyl on the way in to hades, no issue, then I lost a wolf both to the warden, and to that gigantes hero Ephialtes (and my remaining 3 elysian soldiers from that quest, was hoping they'd make it all the way to the big boss). The generals were fine (a lot easier than normal), the empusa was fine.

On Hades, all my pets (3 wolves, nymph, nightmare) survived, full health. No scrolls. No regrowth, I've specced out of regrowth since I never used it. Honestly, the first 2 phases with hades were so fast, it was as if he spent more time in transition. I used plague (12/6/12) and distortion wave (wasn't maxed, but is now so it would have been fairly close to max). I don't use armor and health on the pet gear, except conqueror's mark which has health and total speed for the pets. My HoO is 16/6/6.

So that's the main difference I guess, extra health from conquerers and the nightmare tanking.

My jewellery and staff all give elemental damage for pets, the neck is total damage and damage converted to health. My wolves are summoned as 20/6/6/16, since I have +5 skills on gear. I never see any use of survival instincts. Nightmare was 6/6/12, Nymph was nowhere near maxed so might have just been 6/6/6.

Hm... Might have something to do with that you're dream and I'm Spirit as my secondary... Guess dream is pretty nice. And yeah I don't know how we're so different. I have my wolves maxes and yet they die from Typhon when they run in. Poor suckers die so quickly I don't bother resummon them anymore when farming Typhon :l

Yeah, found pets builds is a joke. When your pets capped by near 20th lvl only, and hordes of mobs even on 3-4 normal going far beyong 20th level. And in legendary its actually not a joke at all, like what? Who get a chance having 20 lvl against 65!? So pets good for start. And they are fun, but very limited one.

Pets' lvl increases with difficulty. I got lvl 41 lich who could tank vs epic Hades for about 1.5-2 min.

Your level 20 wolf will be a level 70 wolf in legendary. They get a buff in epic, and in legendary ;)

Judging by how this thread goes, godtier builds are pet builds.

:D :D but Surely no. Because while you can have +%200 bonus damage to whatever type you are hitting, pets can only have flat numbers ( with best gear it is %60 ) + their base spell stats are weakier than yours except timed ones and their ai is weak.

With my summoner (Nature/Earth), the wolves do well in act4/epic, but I have a Core Dweller that tanks surprisingly well. Just got to the bottom of the Tower of Judgment, and I was very surprised how well that went (unlike act4/normal, which was a complete pain).

This is in a duo game (so more mobs), partnered up with my fiance who plays an oracle. She provides the damage, though I have dabbled some on my own and it worked satisfactorily also. I actually don't have much in the way of gear on that character. Just +1, so only two wolves. Will farm for legendary, but so far we just played through, no backtracking or much farming of anything.

Try a Druid (or Sorcerer) with ~150% extra from Eye of the Storm. Or a Champion / Assassin with +274 base physical from Battle Standard. :)

and their ai is weak.
Well you can control them. Then they are only as weak as your ability to command. ;)

You can't control their spells though which could be game-changing.
