Yes, it's 2016, when people can't enjoy a good game without blood anymore.
Personally, I find the lack of blood in a game like this to be a very questionable aesthetic choice, specially considering that the team later on made grim dawn, which is very bloody. Combined with the floaty and very amusing ragdolls, the combat can look very silly in some situations. Maybe it was something the publishers wanted to get better ESRB ratings or something, I don't know.
Either way, I know the old version had blood mod, but I never tried. Wonder if it works with this updated version.
