Same issue, no fix.

Verified cache
reinstalled
scanned for malware
exclusions in AV and no AV at all
run as admin both steam and game

No luck.....It's very disappointing. It's cool to get a copy for free but it wont even give us any kind of hint of what may be wrong, and there is nothing on the net about it.

Fixed it. turns out it was the redist. install all the redits. all of them; the x64 ones and the x86 ones. It's mostly the x86 ones causing the issue because they weren't installed but i did a clean install of them all just to be sure.

Works fine now.

My friend has the same issue, can you guys elaborate on this repair utility, and what versions are you guys installing?

Same problem here.. I'm installing all the redist to see what happens.

go to the game directory

steam apps > common > Titan quest Anniversary

Then

_Common Redistribute > vcredist > then open the 2 folders. you will see the respective redixtribute packages.

This worked for me. Thank you!

Yes installing a 2005 redist works

This did not work for me. To be more specific about my issue, I'm running on Win 10, x64. On startup game window fills screen, then shrinks to reveal a portion of the right hand side of my screen. The game window then appears to flicker off and on (which makes it a bit of a pain to close). I followed the above advice, and also verified the game cache, no luck. Other ideas?

My friend has this problem, but he can't install the redists, the 2005 ones respectively, when he's in the middle of installing them it just gives error saying "Error 1935: An Error occured during the instalation of assembly" Anyone knows how to fix this?

This could be my issue. The '08 redists brought me to a menu where I could select repair, the '05 ones pull up a window saying "Getting required information", the bar fills, and then the program closes with no error message. Tried running in XP SP 2 compatability and as Admin, no dice.

Well, seems you didn't get the error messge so i guess it is not the same thing, and we tried the XP, Vista compatibility, run as admin, verify game cache, all the usual stuff and none of it works

Sounds like this is the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR9UfftGA6w

Watch the video, apparently the issue is that the 05 version is trying to create a temporary folder in a place that it doesn't have permission to do so, so it crashes. WinRepair from tweaking.com has options that will let you do it, but it takes a while to run and I don't have time to screw around with it right now. Will do it later tonight but if someone else want to give it a go before me and post a trip report that would be fantastic.

Good luck.
