Legendary builds starting in Helos
I’ve been messing around with a bunch of Legendary builds starting in Helos, just using the standard gear one gets from Eternal Embers.

I’m doing it to get a feel for these builds and none of them feel special at all.
(No Pets Builds)
I’ve tried:
01) Spirit + Warrior
02) Spirit + Defense
03) Spirit + Dream
04) Spirit + Rune
05) Spirit + Neidan
06) Warrior + Defense
07) Warrior + Dream
08) Warrior + Rune
09) Warrior + Neidan
10) Warrior + Nature
11) Defense + Rune
12) Defense + Dream
13) Defense + Neidan
14) Neidan + Rune
15) Neidan + Dream

I’ve tried everyone of these combos.
Some even had a high reflect and still lost 1/3rd of their health from a couple of Satyr hits. That is not good enough in my eyes.
Is it even possible to do a self-sustain run through Legendary without using any gear you have stashed away?

I know my wording above might be coming off as abrasive, but I do not mean it that way. It is more about wanting understanding.

I don’t like playing games where I have to move at 0.25mm at a time to gain ground and guzzle a bazillion potions all of the time.

I am hoping you all can lend (self-sustain) knowledge.
No use of previously stashed items from other characters. 😊

All the gear given to you from EE makes your character have 0% resist (no negatives), so it is just like starting in Normal, but in Legendary.
I know resists are key, but I'm wondering if there is a secret (knowledge) on how to approach this as self-sustain. 😊

You need to change the EE gear as soon as possible.
First dump the weapon. Even wear normal yellow gear with relic or charm. Otherwise it is a total grind.

When to dump the weapon?
The EE weapon does around 202 damage.
The other weapons in Helos do appx 138 damage.
If I am doing self-sustain, I don't have any relics or charms yet.
Also, are there better builds than the ones I tried that didn't seem all that great to me?

Doing self found should not mean you should not use charms/ relics or artefacts from normal or epic. But if that is how you want to play, then expect a real grind for the first act. You can pick up better items from the first merchant in EE, but sounds like you do not want to use the merchant. You would have to farm money for a while to be able to buy some of there items anyway.
Even playing a new level 40 character in Ragnarok with self found is a total grind.

Also starting Legendary, you really have to carefully consider how you want the build to end up stats wise as it is really easy to mess up your stats allocation. Even starting with a twinked character I will leave a lot of att points free to begin with.

When you say self sustain does that mean no vendor farming?

what was your offansive/defansive ability on your conqueror? around 700-800 u should be fine and easy with conqueror to do that
WIKI May 25, 2022 @ 4:25pm
i tested quickly
u probably gave wrong skills cuz now my conqueror (only using dragon set + 1 white shield)
just got 100-150 damage from per satry
i have 800 oa 1000 da 4300 hp
580 str 580 dex
my damage is low but 1k is okay for solo self found
i can stun enemies for 5-6 sec so they cant hit me most of times
i have %20 dodge
i have battle standart for bosses
i have shield recovery and maxing out those (probably u missing that skills) archers no problem at all
also i dont have any rings

-i cant see any diffculty for conqueror

What I did with each attempt was....
I maxed each class to their full level 40.
Then I distributed attribute points to have apprx 350 STR / 300 DEX.
This left me apprx 80 to 100 attribute points left over to play with.
The skills I chose I maxed out.
Warrior:
Battle Standard + the whole tree.
Onslaught + the whole tree.
Defense:
Colossus Form
And other skills from Warrior + Defense.
I must have been doing something wrong because I did not see a 580 STR and 580 DEX.

I mainly chose skills that were guaranteed. From all of the build attempts.
Not skills that had a 5% chance of happening and so on and so forth.

why? spend all. u will see my numbers
artifact gives +%15 each

end game u just need 655 str u can try 630 str 530 dex if u want
act 1 items just need 470-500 str only ragnarok and hades ones needs 600+

mastery bars ofc must maxed out

warrior mastery:
also u need to max dodge, war horn
max wepaon traning, gives 1 point each of battle rage tree

in defance
u must max: battle aweness and block chance upgrade
quick recovery skill must be maxed
4 passives at very right side in defance must be maxed
colossus 1 point is enough
start give some points to adrenaline tree
give 5-6 point to rally

also i played with very fast

Thank you WIKI

Finally, self-found Legendary Helos feels like Normal Helos, yeah! 😊

The only downside is that 300 energy pool, but luckily I got a good energy regen ring drop and a great str/health/energy/energy regen shield drop which has solved my low energy pool.

my points was if u have enough experience (hours played tested all skills etc..) almost every 2 random class combo can be smooth playtrough
but i admit it conqueror is beginner friendly one :D have fun

note: for energy regen i use rally skills 1. upgrade it gives u good enery regen u can give some point on it later on

yes it's possible ofc, but you have to rememeber that the set only gets you to 0% so its meant to be replaced ASAP, and that a regular character played from normal -> epic will have more chances to find loot to pre plan their run, whereas your starting with nothing.

to add, you start off with pitiful gold so you can't even vendor farm, the helos shop sucks. so you would have to done it at the eternal embers shop before you take the portal through, and even then your only reasonable expense is rings.

if you are 100% set on doing SSF from legendary basically naked, then this is where your experience in understanding the game will come into play. having 0% resists without playing a build that has either ADcTH, decent health regen, some type of reduced damage skill or damage absorption will just make it harder on yourself.

I recommend grabbing your 2 yellow resistant rings of 60%, get a third so you can swap whe necessary. if you can find suffixes on these bad boys even better, Of supremacy (DA), Of Grace (dex), Of Immortality (HP) are great options. Get an early demon's blood and then u have 60% elemental / vitality already.

We're going to ignore bleed and poison for the most part, get some pierce res and DA if you can. It really depends on the build, ones using reduced damage skills like squall and plague can get away with more but anything can work. If you're playing neidan then you become even less handicapped by gear.

I was actually going to make a video of a run playing SSF legendary hero to demonstrate how to play out something like this but still waiting for reasonable dlc sale lol

lol

Money has not been an issue having all white and up items show. The white items give quite a bit of money in Legendary. Three rebirth shrines in and I already have 16 mil plus.

Oh, I know 0% resist in Legendary is not good. I'm not far enough into the game to self-find better stuff yet. Unless I get a lucky drop.
The undead still pack a wallop, especially the archers.
I'll avoid them until I am forced to confront them. By then I should be able to find better gear.

I can mention this. My new no death Soothsayer is still in EE. I had to take a break from it because EE to me is like Ragnarök on steroids! AND the enemies in EE are packed tighter together than sardines in a can. Knowing that, I cannot imagine how anyone would do a No Death in EE as a Conqueror. I'm not writing it can't be done, just it couldn't be done by me. lol

My main experience has been in playing a lot of Prophets and Dreamkillers, but for now, I'm enjoying the "HULK SMASH" Conqueror character that I'm playing in Legendary Greece. 😊

Just for fun (lol) started a dream/spirit self found in Legendary Helos just to see how bad it can be.

Although have already found 3 recipes which would all need epic pieces to put together and the artefact you start with is not a good one. It has to go.

Anyway, if looking for gear, just try farming a bit. Do not like doing it but for this I will.
All the Legendary drops so far have been for strength builds. So sticking with a few yellow pieces and a lot of negative resistances for a while.

Also if leaving it to later to try and find gear to swap out, you will need to look for almost an entire set. I mean by this in Act 2 and 3 resistances really start to matter, so replacing just 1 or 2 pieces could leave you with some negative resistances which could start to hurt. Which is why I put up with negative resistances for a short while, I have 1 piece of starting armour left and will farm now to try to gather some relics and hopefully a good int based drop.

Anway, ran the Satyr boss 3 times so I could buy a couple of decent rings. Ran Nexus 4 times and the poison cave quest about 6 times. So far:
Gorgons Edge.
Crystalline Armour.
Borealis.
Shield of Skuld.
Eidolon Shell.
Pyromancers Bracelet.
A few Deathweaver pieces, Helms, Shields, Legtips.

I definitely need to get past the Gorgons and farm the cave after or it is going to be tricky going further. Oh yes at least a Hallowed Helm was at a merchants.

p.s The Spell Breaker boss just before Parnassus can be nasty and comes with a lot of mage wielders who will stun. Spent some time picking one off at a time till she was the only 1 left.
